Well, it has been a month since I last posted. Summer Break is officially over, and my children started school today. They only had half a day at their school, but the two oldest came home with Homework on their first day! They were not overly impressed by that, but I think it is kind of funny! LOL!They were a little nervous about going to school, but they made out o.k. I had to do quite a bit of talking with and comforting my 13 year old daughter before I left her at school. She did not want to stay ~ sometimes being a 13 year old girl and having "friends" that can be insensitive at times, is a very hard thing to deal with. But I managed to convince her to stay, and I think overall, she had a pretty good morning. It sure does help that her Home Room Teacher this year, is her "old" Teacher from another school she used to go to. I am so pleased about that!
It was kind of bittersweet for me this morning dropping them off at school. I like the fact that my children are able to attend a Christian School again, but I will miss having them home with me as well. Oh well, I am pretty sure that they will do much better this year in a Classroom setting. Homeschooling works well for a lot of families, but with ours, it was just one struggle after another.
Now I need to develop a new routine for my days. I don't want to waste my time ~ I want to make the most of my days. But truth be told ~ I think I will enjoy a couple of days (at first) just relaxing and taking some "me" time ~ maybe read a book, work on my quilt that has been sitting all summer, or just have a nap!
I hope you all had a wonderful day, and I hope you have a wonderful School Year ~ whether you teach your children at home, or they attend a school outside of the home!
