September is Here!
Posted in Everyday Happenings
Well, it has been a month since I last posted. Summer Break is officially over, and my children started school today. They only had half a day at their school, but the two oldest came home with Homework on their first day! They were not overly impressed by that, but I think it is kind of funny! LOL!
They were a little nervous about going to school, but they made out o.k. I had to do quite a bit of talking with and comforting my 13 year old daughter before I left her at school. She did not want to stay ~ sometimes being a 13 year old girl and having "friends" that can be insensitive at times, is a very hard thing to deal with. But I managed to convince her to stay, and I think overall, she had a pretty good morning. It sure does help that her Home Room Teacher this year, is her "old" Teacher from another school she used to go to. I am so pleased about that!
It was kind of bittersweet for me this morning dropping them off at school. I like the fact that my children are able to attend a Christian School again, but I will miss having them home with me as well. Oh well, I am pretty sure that they will do much better this year in a Classroom setting. Homeschooling works well for a lot of families, but with ours, it was just one struggle after another.
Now I need to develop a new routine for my days. I don't want to waste my time ~ I want to make the most of my days. But truth be told ~ I think I will enjoy a couple of days (at first) just relaxing and taking some "me" time ~ maybe read a book, work on my quilt that has been sitting all summer, or just have a nap!
I hope you all had a wonderful day, and I hope you have a wonderful School Year ~ whether you teach your children at home, or they attend a school outside of the home!

Changes are Good!
Posted in Everyday Happenings
Wow! Where has the summer gone! Here it is the first week of August already!!!! My last entry was about all of the rain we have been getting! Well, the sun has finally arrived, and with it the humidity! But I must admit, that overall, the weather hasn't been too bad!
My title mentions "Change". The change is this ~ my children will not be Homeschooled this year. Our Church has started a Christian Day School, so my children will be attending Charity Baptist School in September. My oldest son is going into Grade 10!!!!!! It was just yesterday that I brought him home from the Hospital! It is hard to believe that in just three short years, he will be finished High School and ready for the next phase of his life!
My daughter is going into eighth grade and my "baby boy" is going into sixth grade! I wish the days would slow down, and my children would once again become the little toddlers they once were! Boy how I would do some things differently! Oh well, since I can't turn back time, I will enjoy the time I have now with my "not so little' children!
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Rain, Rain ~ Go Away!
Posted in Everyday Happenings
It has been rainy and damp for over a week now, and the forecast for the next 4-5 days is for the same!!! Is the sun ever going to shine again????? I wouldn't mind so much, if there wasn't so much humidity in the air! A constant state of "stickyness" is no fun!!!! Oh well, the plants are LOVING this weather!

It has been so long.....
Posted in Everyday Happenings
It has been so long since I have posted anything of my long neglected Blog! Life has a funny way of getting in the way of things. Life ~or should I say Facebook! Since I signed in to Facebook, my Blog has been sadly pushed to the side! I hope to remedy that by checking in with my blog, and begin posting again.
I celebrated my 40th birthday yesterday, and for my present, my husband is finally redoing my Dining room. Yay!!!! I can hardly wait!! I hope to post the progress of the transformation over the next few months (yes, it will take that long), as my husband works shift work. Stay tuned!
Well, the hockey game is on (go Penguins!!!!), so I will say goodnight. Hopefully it won't take me so long to drop by again!

Hello!
Posted in Everyday Happenings
Good morning everyone! I know, I haven't "blogged" in quite awhile, and for that I am sorry! I do enjoy my blog, but I just can't seem to find the time to add new entries very often. A couple of weeks ago, I did take the time to right out my entry for the Simple Woman's Daybook. I enjoy visiting doing this assignment once in awhile, and I also enjoy reading other's entries as well. I was a little upset (maybe that is too strong of a word), when I received an email saying that someone had posted a comment on one of my entries. I don't receive emails of that sort very often, because honestly, I don't post much, and I really don't think that I have all that many readers. Anyway, I went to my blog to see what this comment was, and I was disappointed to find that it was not a friendly comment, but rather a not so nice comment. The person basically told me I was wasting my time in taking part in the Simple Woman's Daybook, and that I should be spending my time doing more important things, like teaching my children.
O.K. If you are going to take "your" time in reading my entry in the first place and then leaving a comment ~ I think you should at least leave your name instead of posting anonymously! If you feel it is your place to pass judgement on me, then I would think you would be courageous enough to leave your name! I'm sorry if I sound a little annoyed, but I am. If people are going to leave negative comments, then at least don't be a coward by NOT leaving your name!!!
