Today my oldest son Nathan turns 15!!!! Wow!!!! Where have the years gone???? It seems like it was yesterday that I went to the hospital to have my precious baby boy! But alas, he is no longer a baby, and is quickly becoming a man! What a blessing he is to me!There came a time during my pregnancy when I almost lost my precious baby. When I was six months pregnant, I was hospitalized with severe dehydration and all that goes along with that. I had a friend who insisted I go to the hospital, and I am so glad that I listened to her! The Nurses told my friend that if I hadn't gone to the hospital, Nathan would probably had died.
I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which would later become full blown Ulcerative Colitis, thus leading to me having my colon removed when Nathan was 6. I was so sick at that time. During a normal pregnancy, most women will gain 20 pounds or more. When I arrived at the hospital to deliver Nathan, I weighed 40 pounds LESS than I did before I got pregnant!!!!!! So I am guessing that I LOST about 60 lbs + while carrying my baby! Everything that I was taking in, was going to my baby first, so I wasn't getting much for myself. Praise the Lord it was enough though, to keep my baby alive!!!!
Like my title says, Nathan is my miracle baby! I could have lost him. He could have been born with health issues. But he wasn't!! God protected him in the womb, and he was born healthy and strong!!!! Now my miracle "baby" is 15 today!!!! Thank you Lord for your loving protection over both of us!!!
