For Today... March 16, 2009
Outside my window... the sun is shining, the air is crisp, and I hear a few birds singing.
I am thinking... how Spring is just around the corner, and how I LOVE to wake up to the sounds of the birds singing outside my window!
From the learning rooms... No "learning" this week. It is Spring Break!
I am thankful for... the kindness of neighbors
From the kitchen... not really sure. Probably just something quick and easy
I am wearing... a denim skirt, beige T-shirt, and a beige cardigan.
I am reading... Home Educating with Confidence by the Boyers
I am hoping... warmer temperatures that will take away all of the snow
I am creating... homemade cards
I am hearing... nothing. My children are sound asleep, snug in their beds.
Around the house... laundry that needs to be done, dishes that didn't get done last night, and purging that needs to be done in the livingroom.
One of my favorite things... a nice leisurely walk in the woods
A few plans for the rest of the week... Sleepover tomorrow night with my soon to be 13 year old daughter and eight of her friends. Continue "purging" my home of unnecessary things. Celebrating my Daughter's 13th birthday on Saturday!
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

FOR TODAY... March 2, 2009
Outside my window... The sun is definitely not shining today. The weather forecast is calling for freezing rain, ice pellets, and rain! What a lovely day we are going to have today!
I am thinking... of the things that need to be done around my home, to make it more of a haven of rest for my family.
I am thankful for... the things that the Lord has been teaching me lately!
From the learning rooms... plugging along with daily learning
From the kitchen... Not sure really. With my Husband away on Course, I find it difficult to think about cooking a "Big" meal for just the kids and I.
I am wearing... My warm flannel nightgown, and housecoat!
I am creating... too many things on the go to mention them all! Someday I will finish them all! (I hope!)
I am going... nowhere today! With freezing rain and ice pellets on the way, I think it would be safer if we stayed OFF of the roads!
I am reading... my Bible, A new study I received about the Proverbs 31 Woman. It is VERY good!
I am hoping... that I can find the books and things I need to Homeschool my children next year used, and at a reasonable price.
I am hearing... my dog snoring besides me, the sound of the computer humming, and the T.V. downstairs.
Around the house... laundry that has to be started, meals that need to be planned, schoolwork that needs to be corrected.
One of my favorite things... listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, and the seagulls flying overhead! Nothing can soothe and calm my soul like the smell of salt water and the ocean!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Orthodontist consultations for two of my children on Wednesday, continuing with Schoolwork, and waiting for my husband to return on Friday!
Here is picture thought I am sharing... the results of the freezing rain we received today!

FOR TODAY... February 9, 2009
Outside my window... the sun is shining, and it looks wonderful outside. Even though the sun is shining, it is VERY cold out! Brrrr!
I am thinking... of the things that need to be done around my home, to make it more of a haven of rest for my family. School work that needs to be done, Doctor's appointments that are coming up, Ben's birthday this weekend, and my Husband's upcoming Course that will take him from home for 6 weeks.
I am thankful for... gentle reminders
From the learning rooms... plugging along with daily learning
From the kitchen... chicken casserole (that my Mom is making for us for supper!)
I am wearing... A hooded sweatshirt, socks (don't usually wear them!) and my jeans ~ it is just too cold for my skirt today!
I am creating... crocheted dishcloths, and handmade cards
I am going... nowhere today! Too cold!
I am reading... my Bible, trying to decide on a new novel to read.
I am hoping... that the appointment for my 14 year old son with the Heart Specialist in May goes well. Hopefully we will get some answers.
I am hearing... my dog snoring besides me, the sound of the computer humming, and the T.V. downstairs.
Around the house... cleaning, dishes that need to be done, a few rooms need to be rearranged, homemade bread to make.
One of my favorite things... my new Scrapbooking space my husband made for me, and Lindor Chocolates! They are sooooo good!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Eye appointment tomorrow morning, then friends visiting for the day. Ben's Family Birthday party on Saturday, and getting my husband ready to go on Course next week.
Here is picture thought I am sharing... My new Scrapbooking space!

FOR TODAY ~ December 1st, 2008
Outside my window... The snow we got last week is slowly disappearing, and will probably be gone today as it is raining and the temperature is supposed to climb to 15* C (which is very mild for this time of year).
I am thinking... About all that needs to be done, and where should I start first!
I am thankful for... a hard working husband who provides for his family. I am also thankful that my husband is starting his "new job" today ~ thus fulfilling one of his "dreams".
From the learning rooms... no school today, as we have tons of house clenaing to do. I was away all day Saturday, and nothing got accomplished while I was away.
From the kitchen... We will probably be having left over Turkey soup and maybe some hot biscuits to go with it.
I am wearing... a long sleeved brown T-shirt, a denim skirt and socks (yes, I actually have socks on this morning ~ my feet are cold.)
I am creating... some projects that will hopefully get finished in time for Christmas.
I am going... to the Eye Doctor this afternoon. My oldest has his yearly Eye Exam today.
I am reading... my Bible.
I am hoping... to get my house back in some semblance of order today, and prepare school lessons that will take us up to Christmas Break.
I am hearing... The sound of my dog snoring as she sleeps, and two of my three children talking in the background.
Around the house... dishes need to be done, laundry washed, dried, and put away. Baking, floors that need to be swept and mopped .... and tons of other things!
One of my favorite things... the soft glow of the Christmas lights on the Christmas Tree.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Doctors appointments, Grocery shopping, Christmas baking, and school work.

FOR TODAY (November 10, 2008)...
Outside my window... The sky is overcast, but free from rain (unlike this past weekend)
I am thinking... how in the world can I possibly organize everything!
I am thankful for... the free Country in which we live, and for the sacrifice of so many men in women, so many years ago (and now as well). Remembrance Day is tomorrow.
From the learning rooms... plugging on with our School Work. Trying something different with Emily and Ben for History.
From the kitchen... Steak, potato wedges, squash, and carrots. Maybe even dessert. Not me though ... gotta watch those points!
I am wearing... Jean skirt, light blue 3/4 length sleeve T-shirt, knitted slippers (that have seen better days!)
I am creating... "Primitive" style embroidered pictures/pillows
I am going... to our local Homeschool Meeting tonight
I am reading... Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit, and some craft magazines I picked up at the Grocery Store
I am hoping... my Mother feels well again real soon!
I am hearing... "Marion's Meanderings" on the radio.
Around the house... Laundry that needs to be finished and put away. Things that need to be put back in their place. Pictures that need to be organized and scrapbooked.
One of my favorite things... a large French~Vanilla Cappucino and Blueberry Fritter from Tim Hortons!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Observe Remembrance Day tomorrow, continue Homeschooling, work on some crafts (to sell ~ hopefully, and maybe for Christmas, and for Swaps), make bread
