Sep. 10, 2008 - Christian Movie Review Link
I have been wondering for many years what the big deal about Mama Mia. I didn't know much about the movie, but I had an uneasy feeling in my gut. Why is it spoken about so highly? Why are there so many plays about it? Why do so many people see it? I suspect that it was curiosity that got Eve into trouble with eating the apple. I also know from past experiences that curiosity has caused me to get tricked by the enemy to sin against God. So, I find an alarm go off when that curiosity conflicts with that gut uneasy feeling. I asked God about the movie. I prayed that he would tell me whether I could see it to find out what the big deal about it. Each time I prayed, the uneasy feeling wouldn't go away. Thus, I waited on the Lord and resisted the curiosity to see it. Then God brought this link that I found, http://www.christiananswers.net/spotlight/
I was able to read about Mama Mia. I am so glad that I didn't go see it tonight. I can see that it would have been one of those movies that would be displeasing to God. In addition, my daughters were also wanting to see the movie with Dakota, a favorite actress, in the upcoming Secret of the Bees movie. However, after reading the description, it is more easy for me to see that is not a movie that I want them to see. I will let them see Disney's new animation, Bolt, which comes out in November. It is so wonderful to have a website like this where we can see a review of a movie from a Christian perspective. I hope you enjoy the link as much as I did.

Another really good movie review site is Focus on the Family's pluggedinonline.com--it's saved me a bunch of ticket money! :)

That is where we check out movies too. Those movies which get popular enough for me to hear about (I don't watch tv) are unfortunately usually not good. I had not heard of a new Disney movie, thanks for the update:)

Hi,
Movies can influence our kids so much. The DiVinci Code started my son questioning the truth of scripture. Of course, he's 22 and was well over 18 when he watched it, so I had no say in what he watched. We ended up getting rid of tv so we don't have to deal with the desire to go to movies. We never hear about them.
Have a great day,
Jeannine

My husband would like you to know that Disney is funding the prohomosexual agenda, big time.

I certainly don't want to support that agenda. Thanks for the reminder. I forgot about that.
