Jun. 3, 2008 - Encouragement for the Queens of their homes
I was feeling really down today. My husband gently asked me to please go to the Above Rubies website and read some while playing some Christian praise music. What great advice that was. Read this article by Nancy Campbell and be greatly encouraged about the Queenship of your home.

Jan. 3, 2008 - Can you determine the sex of your baby?
God is so amazing. He made everything wonderfully just as He said after completing his creation. He even made our bodies in such a way that we can manipulate our cycle to determine the sex of our babies. I have done this with my first four babies. I had two girls and two boys as I had planned. My mom said that all her friends did this as well. My mom said that the Jewish people know the most about this. She said there are books out there about it. I haven't tried to research any of that, and she was referring back to many years ago. I also had a nurse from a hospital confirm this as true. However, I have come to realize that not every woman knows that God created our bodies and cycles to be controlled by us. So, here is a little bit of information about it for those who are interested.
If you know the time you are going to ovulate then make sure you are with your husband the week before you start to ovulate to have a boy. If you are with your husband after the second day of ovulating you will have a girl. This is not a hundred percent guarantee to have the sex of the baby you want, but it has worked for me every time. It also worked for my moms friends. Make sure that you will be happy if you don't have the sex of the child you expect. I think every child needs to be received in love and excitement.
Okay, are there any questions? Does anyone have any additional information to add to this? I don't know all the details so feel free to step in and give us the reasons for this. I don't know any materials to recommend. Oh, by the way, if you don't want morning sickness. It is an easy fix. Fast for a week before conception. Yep, that will nip it. I have done this a couple of times. It was well worth the fast. All morning sicknesss was nonexistent for those pregnancies. The reason I read that this works is because your body gets rid of all the toxins which is the reason for the morning sickness (a mom's body trying to protect and care for her baby from early on). If you don't have the toxins built up in your body then you won't get sick. Again, fast for a week before conception and no morning sickness. Pretty neat, huh? God is sooo good? There is more information (materials can be purchased) about this through The Institute of Basic Life Principles out of Oak Brook, IL. Don't just love his kindness toward us?!!
Jun. 13, 2007 - A Morning Bible Study To Start Your Day
Isn't God's word awesome?!! It is amazing how the scriptures can be relevant for today just as they were a thousand years ago. They are relevant for the young and old, and regardless of gender. How does God do that? Isn't it amazing? Well, I say all this after my bible study this morning.
I was reading in Proverbs, passing over this particular scripture that kept popping out at me. I passed over it several times, coming back to it at least three times. I felt my spirit pricked about it. I had never thought of this scripture this way before today, but it seemed God was trying to encourage me.
Proverbs 28:19 "He who cultivates (KJ tillith) his land will have plenty of bread."
I wrote the scripture down but, it jumped out at me even more. I pulled out the Strong's concordance (dictionary for the Hebrew and Greek original words). I looked up tillith (which is awbad), land (which translates as adannah), and bread (lechem). The Lord directed my eyes to the definitions which really surprised me. You see the word, tillith, is to work as a bondsmen and worshiper, the word bread (lechem) in Hebrew is the word fruit, land (adannah) is defined as earth ground, soil (and as the Holy Spirit convicted me it meant my soil was my children), and plenty (saba) which means abundance, plentiful. Now read the same scripture with these Hebrew definitions.
Proverbs 28:19 He who works as a bondsmen, worshiper, his soil (my children are the soil) will have plenty (abundance, plentiful) of fruit.
Wow! That scripture comes to life with the Hebrew definitions. Then when I added my conviction that the Holy Spirit showed me that my children are my soil that I am working. It is their hearts that I must till and work. God has given us moms such an amazing responsibility to work something so precious as our children's hearts. Now go back and read the scripture again. You and I get to reap abundant and plentiful fruit. Yes, we are rewarded for the long hours, exhausting work. Ladies, we are blessed!! Now after reading this, be encouraged to go worship God, be a worshiper as a bondsman to Jesus by working the soil of your children's hearts today, for you will soon be rewarded with an abundance of fruit (more than your heart will be able to contain). God bless you today.
"Father, I pray that in Jesus name that these ladies, fellow bondsmen for you, will have a wonderful day with their children. Make their footsteps light. Give them a new skip in their walk, and a new joy in their hearts. Bless them and their families. Protect them with your angels. Help all of us to bless you in all that we do, glorifying you in our labor today. In Jesus name."
May. 27, 2007 - That was so funny!
"A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." Proverbs 17:22

God is still teaching me about the power of my thoughts. When I keep God and His word first in my life, I don't struggle with my thoughts as much. I didn't realize how much influence my thoughts had in how I feel as a mom. By keeping my mind on who God says that I am in his word, and how he loves me (as he also loves everyone of you) then my joy in the Lord is there. If I can catch myself thinking or meditating on thoughts that are not from God (thus they are from the enemy because the bible says we wrestle not with flesh and blood but spiritual principalities) and replace them with God's Word, my spirit is free from worry, stress, and anxiety. A cheerful mind is one that meditates on God's Word. A cheerful heart is a reflection of our thoughts. What are your thoughts throughout the day? What are you meditating on when you get angry, upset, stressed? I am really finding out that taking control of these thoughts really gives me power over my smile, countenance on my face, etc. Happy thoughts, God centered thoughts, make for a happy heart. God loves us. God has forgiven us. God has given us his Word. Regardless of our circumstances, we have a promised eternal life with our heavenly Father. Our relationship is restored because of his love for us. That in itself should give us such joy and happiness. I wish to laugh with my children. We have nothing to fear. Death can not hold us down. Sin can't hold us down. We can rejoice as a child because we having a loving Father-oh, how I adore Him.
May. 10, 2007 - Spoiled children? Can overindulging be bad for them?
"Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds" Proverbs 27:23
I once thought that I wanted the best for my children. I wanted them to have the things that I never had. One thing in particular is toys and books. I never had books. I never had toys (unless you count broken fourth handed down toys that were more masculine than feminine, such as boys roller skates). I had very few girl clothes, mostly passed down boy clothes. I never had the pretty girl stuff growing up. I did have a kitchen set which my dad made without any pots and pans, and certainly no food. I did the best I could to improvise with paper. I had forgotten about those memories until recent. It was when I was again helping them clean their very cluttered room, when the Holy Spirit convicted me that I had given them more toys than they could even put away. The Holy Spirit addressed my heart gently telling me that it would be more helpful and healthy to eliminate some of them. Then He reminded me of the past memories, gently speaking of the issue that I had in my heart.
I felt the Holy Spirit tug at my heart to show me what had caused me to be so overabundant in my giving to them was my own heart wounds. I actually had emotional ties to their things. I was nursing my own wounds. In realizing this, I was able to make some changes.I am ebaying some of their toys. They get the profits to put in their own bank accounts so they feel that their toys are still owned by them. I don't want them to feel sad or wronged by mom. Allowing them to give up the books that are not really a collection to save for further readings or siblings, they are auctioning them. The children are actually excited about giving up their old toys. I have explained that some other child gets them that might not be able to afford new ones. They also can give a portion of it to missions. The children are surprisingly eager to ebay one or two items each week.
Don't you love how God is such a good father?! I couldn't see the damage that I could have been doing by buying them so much. It didn't occur to me that I was causing a problem. God reached in my hearts and pulled out the root of the weed. I had no idea that I was overindulging my children because I was nursing the wounds in my child heart. While I was cleaning their bedroom which takes an enormous amount of time to clean, I could easily see that too many toys, books, and clothing made it very difficult for them to keep tidy. There is a big box of dolls, doll clothes, minature dolls, dress up clothes, etc. So, now that the eyes of my heart have been opened to the damage that overindulgence can cause (Thanks to the Holy Spirit), we are purging the children's rooms. It is the scripture mentioned above that also convicts me. We need to watch the condition of our flock, our children. I am glad that God convicts me when I am on the parenting journey. He is a much better parent than me. Here is an interesting link that I happened to come across: indulgance and children
