Nov. 29, 2007 - Letters, Games and Ramps
This is what our last couple of weeks have looked like. It's been one big playtime. :)
I made this game for the boys with things we had around the house. They love matching the sponge letters to the felt ones on the poster. We have an alphabet puzzle as well but they like the feeling of the sponges better I think. Squishy things are fun!

"But Mom, if we each have a chair we can both win at musical chairs!"

This is the ramp they built yesterday. They experimented to see which toys would go faster and which toys wouldn't go at all.

Some days it's nice to stay in pajamas until after lunch. But they did want shoes on. It makes more noise when walking on wood floors with shoes on! :)
They are getting their big kid beds delivered tomorrow. I will be shopping this afternoon for sheets. I'm not quite sure yet if I'm going to get them new comforters now or save them as Christmas gifts. They have quilts my Nannie made for them that aren't quite big enough to make up a twin bed. I'm really excited about it and I think they are going to be so happy!
Nathaniel surprised me yesterday. I wrote some three letter words on his doodlepad thing. I wasn't surprised he knew all of the letters and sounds. However, after I showed him how to sound the letters out in order he was able to sound out words! We started with cat and went on to other words just changing the first letter. Then we went on to other words like mop and dog. Then I went back to cat and he knew it! I had to help him remember to say the first letter sound of the words. But he did really well and I was so amazed! I tried this about a month ago just to see where he was with letter sounds and phonics and such and he couldn't do it then. He just didn't quite understand what I was trying to explain. What a difference in that short amount of time!
I'm so excited about this weekend. Our local Christmas parade is Saturday! We went last year and LOVED it. We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving one this year on tv and Seth keeps asking to watch the parade again. He will be so excited to see this one in person.
