4 Years ago today
4 years ago today my baby girl was born. I didnt think we would have any more children but I prayed and Prayed for another child. The month prior we had went to visit Trina and Den for a few days and had some great discussions about children and leaving your family size up to the Lord . About a month or so later Brad and I were sitting in the living room watching T.V. survivor to be exact and these thoughts quickly ran through my mind. Hmm, I think Im late, I think I have a pregnancy test under the bathroom sink, Im going to go take it. LOL. I didnt tell my DH I really didnt even think it would be positive. So I ran into the bathroom during a commerical break and took the test and Immediatly it showed positive I about collapsed. I walked out and showed dh the pregnancy test and he was shocked but very happy. Then of course I ran in my bedroom and called the first person that I would ever call my best friend Trina. She was soo happy for me.
Fast forward to delivery day.
The night of 11-13-02 I was busily packing and getting ready for the next day as I was being induced the next morning. I was soo excited I couldnt sleep. I stayed up most of the night watching A baby Story and cried half the night , I always cry when I watch those shows. Joshua and Micah spent the night at my in laws . So in the morning we headed to the hospital , They got me right in my room and started the induction. I go there at 8 a.m. and had her at 2:50 pm. My delivery was perfect and Brad and I cried when she was born . I couldnt believe she was here. Brad was soo excited and started calling everyone. Such a wonderful , wonderful day.

Cheryl Is Allowing Me To Guest Blog
I was sitting in my hot bath tonight thinking about my friend Cheryl, and letting my mind wander down memory lane, when I thought it would fun to be a guest blogger on her site and share with you who I know Cheryl to be. Lucky for me she decided to let me, what a brave girl...hehehe
Years ago we met as young teenage moms living next door to each other in an apartment complex. I remember feeling so excited about my new house with my new family. When the manager walked me down to my doorway, we could see a young blonde woman sitting on her living room floor with a newborn in a carseat beside her. The manager shared Cheryl's name with me and told me that she thought that we would hit it off. I glanced a little longer into her home and pondered that for a few seconds, never truly imagining that our friendship would stand the test of time, almost 16 years to be exact. Who would have THUNK it!
Sure enough, shortly after I moved in I received a knock at the door. When I opened it I knew it was my new and friendly neighbor. She was very sweet, and we introduced our firstborn sons to one another. River was nine months old, and Joshua was a preemie. I remember trying to relate to this little one that was so small and that had all these little wires hooked up to him, with this intimidating machine that monitored his heart and his breathing. I admired her for being such a great mom and not complaining about the great responsibility of it all.
Throughout the years we would live around each other, and then we would have our years where we lived apart, but everytime we would see one another it was like we hadn't skipped a beat. She always went out of her way to hunt me down and rekindle our friendship again and again. I was amazed by her love and loyalty towards our friendship.
Today she is the mom to three beautiful children, and I can honestly say that she truly loves being a mom in every way. She is not one to complain, she takes the bull by the horns in all matters, and has the kind of perseverance that I have always admired.
To this day, its never a great surprise to see something in the mail from her. Maybe its just a little card letting me know she is thinking of me, or praying for me, or a congratulations....hehehe She is a dear friend to me. We talk all the time, whether it be on the computer or over the telephone. She is an incredible listener with a heart that is open to many ideas and thoughts. She can be quiet at times, but I could take lessons from her in this area, for I have the gift for gab, in case you havent noticed. LOL
Thanks Cheryl for being a great friend to me through the years, and I hope and pray that your life continues to be full of blessings and answered prayers.
Love,
Trina

Cold winter days
It sure is starting to feel like winter lately. The lows are in the 20's at night and we have had to start building fires in the woodstove to keep warm. Yesterday My DH was home all day so we all just stayed in and relaxed we had a fire going in the woodstove all day. I just love the richness of the heat in the house .

We had a very productive homeschool day we got alot accomplished and had alot of fun with our lapbook that we are doing.
Mary and I made homemade oatmeal cookies for everyone. Then Dh and I each made a different soup for lunch he made a vegetable bean soup and I made a potato soup in the crockpot. They both turned out delicious.
We were all relaxing by the fire later that night watching The Black Stallion and Dh was craving pumpking ice cream so i put on my tennis shoes and drove down to the local market and bought a gallon of pumpkin ice cream and we all had that for dessert that night. It was soo yummy! And then everyone wanted Hot Chocolate so Mary and I made that for everyone

It was such a nice relaxing day with the family.
Tonight I took the kids trick or treating with a few of their friends we had a good time. Mary didnt last long since it was so cold so the kids friends dad traded off with me and he took them the rest of the way while I took Mary home. It is bitterly cold here tonight.

So I thought I woulid snap some pictures while I was questioning her, she wouldnt look at me. I was laughing so hard. She seems very interested in marking pages in my Ikea catalog.

A Few Fall Crafts
I found this idea for a fall craft/ decoration in family fun magazine and I thought it was neat so I thought I would show you all.
Nature Walk Wreath

The end product -- a one-of-a-kind door decoration -- is certainly special, but the best part of this project is the "collecting walk." This homemade wreath is an ideal group project -- each family member gets a chance to contribute, and there's no wrong way to do it.
| CRAFT MATERIALS: |
 |
Nature objects you've gathered on a walk (dried leaves, acorns, seedpods, pinecones, twigs, etc.) |
 |
Large grapevine wreath (available at garden centers) or individual small ones |
 |
Floral wire |
 |
Glue gun |
Time needed: About 2 to 3 Hours |
1. Take your family for a stroll through a neighborhood park or any nearby nature spot to gather whatever catches your eye.
2. Back at home, invite everyone to arrange their finds on a large grapevine wreath, or provide individual small ones to serve as take-home keepsakes.
3. Twigs, stems, and larger items can be woven into the grapevine or secured with floral wire. A parent can affix small items such as acorns or pebbles with a glue gun. Hang the finished product proudly -- it should last until spring.
Foilage Friends

Use your imagination (and some paper, glue, and a pen or pencil) to turn ordinary backyard leaves into a whimsical menagerie.
| CRAFT MATERIALS: |
 |
Autumn leaves from your yard |
 |
Paper |
 |
Glue |
 |
Pencils, pens, or crayons |
Time needed: About 2 to 3 Hours |
1. Go outside and see what kinds of animals are hiding in your leaf piles. Below are some possibilities. When you've found leaves in your yard whose shapes you like, glue them to pieces of paper and use pencil, pen or crayon to make your creatures complete. To preserve your creations, press them between two books.
2. MAPLE: These leaves have three main points and lots of smaller ones; count them as they flutter by.
3. ROSE: The rounded shape of this bush's leaves makes them look a lot like little shields.
4. BIRCH: As big and tall as this white-bark tree can get, its leaves are as small and as light as feathers.
5. GERANIUM: You might flip your wig if you find one of these wild-looking leaves in your yard.
6. BARBERRY: While this plant doesn't live underwater, its leaves resemble raindrops.

Sickness in the house
Well we have sickness in the house today. Just Mary Madeline right now. While we were at the airport picking up DH yesterday she was complaining of a sore throat I didnt really think much of it sort of thinking she was just bored and wanted something to complain about since she tends to do that. But all night she was up her nose is so stuffed up she couldnt sleep and her throat is still hurting her poor baby. So her and I are home today and DH is out with the boys . Lets just hope no one else gets it. She was asking for pumpkin pie so I have one baking right now for her. We have played numerous games of Memory she thinks that is the greatest game.
If you remember her please say a prayer for her that she will get some sleep tonight and that she will get some relief. She is one miserable little girl today.
UPDATE: Lastnight she slept better even though she had a raging fever most of the night. I hate it when they are sick I feel so bad for t hem.
Update: #2 Still sick now she has the chronic cough. Atleast no fever anymore , still a runny nose though.

How is everyone? I hope everyone is enjoying Fall. We are doing great here. The kids are doing well with schoolwork. We are staying somewhat on track. My DH has been gone away for the past 7 days he has 6 more days until he comes home. We miss him terribly. He is in Salt lake City in school for his job. It is so hard having him away. I was texting him yesterday just bawling my eyes out I couldnt control it. Im better today though.
Joshua is doing well in school He has all A's right now with the web academy , lets hope that continues.
Micah is doing very good. He is so funny he is the comedian of the family.
Mary is alot of fun. She always has something cute to say. She loves to play on the computer on Nick Jr. She can type it in herself now and go play her games without any assistance which is nice.
I am still working out and losing weight. I am down 18 lbs now. WooHoo!
Have a Great day!

First Day Of School
Well Today was our first day of School for Micah anyways. Joshua starts next week with the web academy.
Today we Started with Math U See. I love it. What an awesome program. He really loved working with the manipulatives. He says Math is his favorite so far. compared to last year that is wonderful. If you look at his math papers from last year they all say in the corner "I hate Math". LOL! After he was done with his math he even was teaching Mary what all the blocks represented. She now knows what the hundreds block is and the tens and ones so far Just from Micah sitting down with her today and showing her.
We then did our spelling with Natural speller. Then we did a lesson in the Daily Grams book!
And we are doing a Lap Book on Honey Bees So we read a little about bees then we labeled the parts of a honey bee and added it to our lap books. If you go to http://www.handsofachild.com/2/ and go to the left hand side of the page it says freebies . The freebie this month is a lapbook on honey bees. It is a great download.
It was a great day.
