O Christmas Tree!

We finally decorated our Christmas tree last night! Yes, it was up and had lights on it before, but no decorations. (we had put it up JUST before the hubby left for MI) I took a vote from our girls, during this past week while the hubby was away, on if we'd wait for him to get home or not. It was unanimous! We were waiting. So, after he arrived home late Thursday evening, I let him know we'd be decorating the tree the next night. He was actually excited and was looking forward to some holiday cheer. We had a great time decorating too! We played various holiday cd's. One of the girls' favorites (because it's so goofy) is 'The Chipmunks Christmas'. I love it too...makes me laugh every time I hear it. And we are all usually pitching in with the singing! ha ha! What fun! The hubby went to put the star on top of the tree, and it wouldn't light. We tried it in different outlets, thinking it might've been the problem. Nope...just won't work. I checked the individual bulbs in it. Nuttin wrong...that I can tell. So, we are without a star on the tree this year. But we have our Nativity underneath the tree! (with various cats snoozing beside it....they LOVE sleeping under the tree) Now, I get to enjoy a nice read by the tree lights at night, with my raspberry hot cocoa. yum! |
