Typing
Yesterday, I started my eldest two girls on a new typing program. Previously, I had them using a free program online. It was 'okay' but not very engaging and they didn't want to stay with it very long. I'd have to prod them to do their typing. Not fun. I hate having to prod them to do anything, much less school work. And yes, their typing is part of their school for this year. So, I purchased the Mavis Beacon Deluxe 20 program with our taxes. I got it for an introductory offer of 50% off BEFORE it was actually released in stores!! Cheaper than the regular version! Pretty cool! This one allows me to put their mp3's to their typing lessons! They LOVE it...had to actually pry them from the compy yesterday!! ha ha! They again asked to use it as soon as they were up today! So, they took turns...arguing who got what amount of time on it. ha ha! Too funny. I am so happy they like it. This program also keeps track of their progress and can print up reports of their work. As I watched each of the girls on it, I was surprised at how quickly they took to it. Not once did they look at their hands on the keyboard. Amazing. Very happy about this product and know that it will help them learn to type accurately and quickly in no time.  |
