Recently, through a friend, I was made aware of the plight of a fellow homeschooling mother in Florida. Her hubby and her have been married for five years and have a three year old little girl. A few weeks ago, shortly before her hubby' birthday, he experienced a psychotic break (a first EVER for him) which threatened the lives of her and her daughter. He now sits in jail, awaiting sentencing. He has since seen doctors and psychiatrists and is undergoing counseling for what happened. ALL the doctors have said it was due to extreme stress from his relatives against his and his wife's marriage..calling to harrass him several times a DAY. He is deeply sorry, but knows it is now out of his hands and in God's. She is now fighting to keep her daughter away from Child Protective Services, who wants her to declare her marriage as abusive and to divorce her husband, whom she still loves deeply. Yes, she is a Christian and doesn't believe in divorce. She describes their marriage as wonderful and loving, before the 'episode' happened. NEVER had there been abuse in the relationship. She also has her 3 yr old in counseling to help her deal with the episode and the loss of her father (who is in jail now) However, CPS says that if she continues to be married to this man, that they will do everything to remove their precious daughter from the home and adopt her out. This is such a tradgedy!! My friend and I have helped her to get into contact with Pacific Justice Institute, Homeschool Legal Defense Association and others. She has her first hearing on Monday. PLEASE...pray for her and her family!!! |
