A Day in the Life...

One of Those Days
Today was just one of those days. On top of having a raging headache, neckache, and tmj jaw pain...none of the girls seemed to want to do any school work and my youngest was intent on driving me insane. She'd already had her nap, so I couldn't put her down for one...so she was sent to play in her room with her dollies. It usually works..not today! She wanted to yell and scream..make whatever loud noise she could. My second to youngest was waiting on me to finish grammar with the older two so that I could do phonics with her. During that time, I guess she decided her time would be best spent terrorizing her baby sister. All I could hear were screams and yelling at one another. I would put the books down, go in there and "break it up", only to go back a couple minutes later. It was getting exasperating. The older two also decided that they weren't going to completely concentrate on their schooling and goof off a bit while I was tending to the other two. I'd come back and have to put them back to work as well. THEN, it was up and down for bathroom breaks, drinks of water, etc. School was dragging out WAY longer than it should have and I was ready to pull my hair out. Finally, I gave them a time limit to finish or their work would be marked wrong regardless. Talk about lighting a fire! They each finished their grammar, moved on to their geography, and then onto their Ohio reports (from notebooking pages I'd purchased). FINALLY, I was able to do phonics with my second youngest. We did about fifteen minutes of that (else it becomes too much for her at one time), and then let out for today. Nope..we didn't cover everything we usually do in one day, but I had had my fill for one day. I needed some time to just gather my own thoughts, relax and unwind. Tomorrow is a new day, then we shall try, try again.

Oh, bless your heart. I know how you feel.

Plus...my 17 yodd was up all night w/her head in the toilet. And...of coure...that means that I was right there w/her w/a cold wash cloth, fizzy pop, hair scrunchies to keep her hair out of her face. Until close to 4a.m.

NOW...my throat has been scratchy all day! Yikes. So, I'm about to go take some Alka-Seltzer Plus and lay down...and pray it goes AWAY!!

Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><
