The following is a video by Stateline Oklahoma. It is about homeschooling vs public education. I thought it was very nicely done. However, you see the typical responses from public school officials about how home educators should have degrees, and 'oh my! What about socialization? Won't they need that for the REAL world?', as if our kids have never been outside their front doors. Also, 'teachers are taught how to present topics to kids', as if we don't know how to talk to or ask our children things in a way they will understand. Gee, I've never had to break out a thesaurus yet to talk to my child! Amazing! Also, lastly but not least, the old 'homeschoolers need to be watched'. ha ha! Yep...we're all unibombers in the making! Geesh. We don't ask to go into their homes just because their kids are public schooled! Obviously all those reasons are just ludicrous but they are brought up by public school proponents all the time. It always rubs me the wrong way, but all I can do is just keep on teaching my kids..doing the best job I know how with what resources we have.
