When It Rains, It Pours
Gee, this is turning out to be such a wonderful  week...month...what have ya.  It seems that it's not enough that our van is out of commission and my daughter gets her tooth broke off. Now, of all things, our dryer is no longer working! I went to put a load of towels and one quilt into the dryer...turned the knob and NOTHING. So, I checked to make sure I even had the heat set on it. Yep, all's good. Turned the knob again...nothing. I set it on different settings and all still 'nothing'.  Nice.  I wanted to just slump to the floor and cry. Calgon take me away! Yes, I know worse things could happen...all of which I am grateful for NOT happening. But why this though? Is it a test to see how well I can string my own laundry line out back between one big tree and our swingset? Not happening....unless I absolutely have to...which could happen. Afterall, I always have loved the thought of that fresh breeze scent from REAL breezes. We did it when I was young and I did it at camp, so why not now? This could very well happen, as we have no more money at the moment to drop on anything else. Ugh. It will be at least a month before we can consider buying a new dryer, or even a used one. We usually have barely enough cash to get through to the next paycheck for gas...this will be a new twist on our money struggles...laundry money. If anybody needs me, I'll be crumpled up in a ball in my closet waiting for the roof to fall.

Apr. 8, 2008 - broken dryer

Posted by snmom

Hey,

I've had that happen to me, twice. Turned out it was just the sensor, both times. Our dryer is a hand-me-down! Is your dh handy? Maybe he could check on that or the pump thing or something?

It was hard for us too. I had to turn my closet into a hang-dry closet. We have allergies galore in our home and hang drying the clothes outside would bring the allergies in!

I hope God provides something for you soon. ((hugs))
