A Day in the Life...
Mar. 9, 2009
The Appleseed Project

During the last couple of weeks, my twin sis has recruited me for something called The Appleseed Project.  It is hosted by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association, in an effort to train more Americans in the art of riflery, liberty, and respect for our forefathers. At the onset of the Revolutionary War, a rifleman was considered an expert marksman if he could hit a man-sized target from 500 yards away. This is where the Appleseed Project comes in.  They are recruiting as many men AND women as possible to get trained in this skill. Along with the rifle training, they will help to connect participants with the events and people that founded our country during the Revolutionary War.  According to the RWVA, riflery is not just about marksmanship,  it means a love of liberty, a respect for our forefathers, and an acknowledgement of the debt of honor we owe to them. All patriotic Americans that wish to learn the skill of rifle marksmanship and help pass it on to future generations are encouraged to sign up and attend their local Appleseed Project. No, this is NOT a militia. lol!! But it is a wonderful opportunity to learn a skill that a LOT of our forefathers possessed and passed on to their own children. Participants under 21 years of age are free...no participation fee. The same goes for WOMEN!! Yes, they are highly encouraging women to take part in this event so we get free participation as well! I don't know what the rate is for all others, but will find out and update this post accordingly.
