A Day in the Life...
May. 3, 2009
Greenery All Around Me!!!

Spring has definitely sprung around here! I am SOOOO loving all the greenery! There are still trees that are just budding, but there are also a lot of them that have full foliage.  My lilies are also coming up very well this year as well. They are almost 8-10" high already and still going. You can tell there are two different varieties coming up by the kind of leaves they have, so am sure some are my new ones. I can't wait to see them!  There are 22 in all so far! So much better than last year's five! Woohoo! My marigolds and forget-me-nots are also sprouting out of the ground.  I cannot wait for them also. Their colors should look terrific together...the bright oranges and golds and bright bue of the forget-me-nots. I also planted some strawberry plants, which are also sprouting!! Fresh strawberries here I come!!! lol!! We'll have to see how big they get, I guess. lol!!

Our girls cannot wait for the end of May, when all the local pools open. We have not taken the cover off our metal pool out back yet. We are waiting for consistently warm weather to do that. I'm kind of scared to actually...wondering if the winterization chemicals worked or not. I'm thinking of how ugly that water will be if it didn't. Ick! The pool pillow deflated sometime during the winter and is no doubt laying at the bottom of our pool. So, we'll have to skim that up off the bottom when we uncover the 'surprise'. lol! We have one of those lil porthole windows on the side of the pool, but I'm actually too scared to look in it to see what the water looks like. Afterall, it's gonna look dark with that navy blue cover on it anyhow, so can't really go by that. But if it looks really 'murky' then we'll know the chemicals didn't really work either. I'll let hubby rip off the surprise cover come the end of the month. rofl!! We have a backup plan though... a membership for the girls to the local pool.  So if it turns out a bust, they'll at least have a pool to swim at. If the metal pool out back is okay...they'll have a home pool and a city pool to go play at with slides, etc too! A bonus! Woohoo!! So, I'll let you know how that turns out at the end of the month.

The girls' school...as I said before, will be continuing during the summer.  Yeah, we got a bit behind during the year, but will be good to kill all that " Mom, I'm bored!" time during the summer. lol!!  They also are able to start studying for the upcoming Bible Bee now also. That will take place in early September, I believe. Good luck to all participating!!

My diet/workout adventure is going great so far! It's been one month and I've lost a little over ten pounds and 2" from my waist!! Woohoo!! Yes, I'm very happy! Gonna keep on going with it, as it seems to be working very well. I have a goal and hope to reach it by the end of  the summer.  Yes, it's gonna be a while, but it'll be worth it when I get there, I think.
