The Excellent Wife & Blogging
|
I just love reading everyones blogs. They have truly been a God send in my life. When I read TaminAZ blog, it just blesses me so much. It is nice to know that I am not the only one who struggles with certain things! I just love all the rich, wonderful wisdom these ladies have.
I just started reading The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace. Wow, very convicting. It is funny, because my husband and I have an absolute wonderful marriage. He cooks, cleans, helps with the kids, surpises me all the time and is just such a loving wonderful man.... and on the outside, I seem really happy. However, on the inside I have been struggling with fear, doubt, worry, anxiety... I realize that it is major attack from the enemy, but I also realized that I was ultimately not trusting the Lord in his Sovereignty (hmm did I spell that right?) I am only on chapter one, but I can tell this is exactly what I needed. I need a heart change in me.... I will be blogging on what I have learned/been convicted of here...
I am also trying to get over the fear of having more kid's. My husband really wants more, but I need to get over being selfish. I am afraid I will not have anytime to myself (heart issue) and how will I be able to handle it all (heart & trust issue)!!! Please pray for me! Most of my close friends here think I am nuts for even considering more children! It is so hard when you hear these types of things...
Have a blessed day,
Jennifer

I'm sorry your friends think you are nuts. Isn't that just the way our society is, though? Children are a curse not a blessing according to those around us, even in the church. Sad. I hope and pray that you will begin to see that children will not take away from your life but only add to it. It takes a while to undo all that thinking the world has set in us.
I really liked the Martha Peace book. Now that you have mentioned it, maybe I'll get it out and put it on my re-reading list.

That is an excellent book! I know you will be greatly encouraged by it.
We only have 3 children with no plans for any more. But as my friend Dixie with 9 kids puts it...just don't do anything permanent! LOL She says her first 4 were difficult but now that the others are older (and a greater help!) she really loves having those sweet babies. It is really cool how they are so close to one another and are a fun crowd wherever they go.

Hi, Jennifer!
I can't believe you found my blog. It was an accident that I created it. I thought I was just registering to post a comment to Tam... hee! hee! So, I haven't told anyone about it. Not too deep of a blog right now... so I plan on just journaling.
Fun that you found me and posted such a sweet and encouraging comment.
Thank you. I will look for that book at our church library.
Isn't our God so amazing!?!
I'll be praying for you and 'checking in' on you.
In Him,
mindy

You will be totally blessed when studying this book! It takes time, several read throughs and going back repeatedly. Heart change takes time.
Blessings,
Tam
