My husband, J, and I have five children - four boys and a red-headed girl right in the middle.
My husband just returned home from serving in Afghanistan with the military (Go Army!) - he is my friend and strength and I wouldn't want to do this without him
We are getting ready to start our eighth year of homeschooling, and the kids are all very active in sports and our church programs. Our homeschooling style is more traditional, but the text books and curriculum are chosen specifically to suit our educational goals and our family's style.
I am blessed beyond what I deserve.
I've thought a lot this weekend about what I'm most thankful for. God has been good to me in many different ways: my husband, my kids, my family and friends...a beautiful home and a vehicle that runs...living in America...
The list could go on for a long time.
But there is a deep gratitude that stems from a gift given when someone doesn't expect it, deserve it, or have any way to repay it. Having said that, this year, I am most thankful for unending grace and mercy. Without it, there is no hope.
What a beautiful reminder of grace and mercy! It is so amazing to me all that the Lord has done knowing that many would not choose and those who did would fall down over and over...

Ephesians 1:7-8 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He lavished on us.
Oh how I thank Him for grace. Great list and the video/song brings tears to my eyes. Be blessed. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

I am humbled by the comment you left on my blog. You know sometimes I feel like we don't do enough to keep Christ the center of our holiday. My dh and I were just talking about that before Thanksgiving and we almost skipped the whole thing because of all the commercialism. But in the end we knew that wasn't the answer so we have decided to put more effort into it. I admit we have failed and we haven't done our advent devotions everyday as a family but we have spent time discussing things...I think we need to be careful and not make it too rigid and allow things to flow. That is not easy for me because I am a scheduling kind of gal and I like things to be planned and then checked out accordingly. :-) Hey but I am learning to loosen up a little.
I hope you have a blessed month with your family. :-)
