Jan. 18, 2008 - Party Time!
Posted in DDs Stuff

Today is my DD's 7th birthday. This girl has been planning her cake for 364 days now. No joke! Everyday she tells me a new idea for her birthday cake. Thank God she let me in on what she wanted to be on it a couple of weeks ago. I had to order one off of Ebay. The lady who made it shipped it fast and even personalized it for me. (I really recommend this lady. She has all sorts of cake toppers. All you had to do, was peel it off and lay it on!) I also ordered some rings to go on the cupcakes (half made it on the cake, due to disaster).

She came in the room last night and told me she finally had the flavors down. She wanted strawberry cake with the strawberry gel and real strawberries inside. In between the middle cake layers, she wanted a layer of ice cream. That's what caused the disaster. While I was putting on the crumb layer of the icing, the cake started to slide. I went to put it in the freezer, only to discover the plate it was on....WOULDN'T FIT! I had to transfer the soft cake over. Yes, it fell apart. I had to hide it with a ton of frosting. BUT...who cares...it still tastes good.

You see, my DD is in love with High School Musical stuff. She has posters, wall-art, clothes, music, movies, pens,....the list goes on. Her fave is Troy. I'm guessing you could tell that one from the cake. She had a huge assortment of cake pics to choose from, and that was the winner. That girl has babied that package since it came in the mail.

Here is her blowing out the candles on her small cake. She decorated it herself. It has strawberry gel with white frosting. According to her, everyone could mix their own icing and have pink if they wanted.

Here are the cupcakes. I made six strawberry gel filled for people to take back to the ones who didn't come by. <--They have a great-great-grandmother who doesn't leave her house much.

Now, she can start planning for next year!

Dec. 6, 2007 - I crocheted a hat...and she liked it!
Posted in DDs Stuff

crochet-hat.jpg

I got bored the other night and had some pink yarn sitting next to my bed. So what do I do? I made a dress for DD's DD. Then, I made her a little cap. When my DD seen what I had done, she wanted a hat for herself. That's when all my problems started.

I got a pattern from wal-mart. I had to use a pattern, because I'm not that great at making stuff that you can actually use from my head. Doll clothes are another story. I forgot to measure and since I crochet somewhat tight....you see where I'm going with this. Yep, and I had that thing almost done! She came and tried it on. Let me tell you, she was stretchingggggg it. She got it to fit, but it had to hurt. So I had to frog it and start over. Luckily, I had it done by this morning for her. She wore it outside in the cold to jump on the trampoline. Those kids are die hard jumpers.

Now, DS2 want one. It'll never end with these two. When one gets something, the other has to have the same thing...different color of course.

Oct. 20, 2007 - Watch Dog
Posted in DDs Stuff

My DD wanted to be a doggie for halloween this year. I'm so glad I finished this one in time and she is happy with it. She is going to wear it for her brother's halloween birthday party. Plus, she will wear it to church halloween night. They have a costume contest every year. This will be the first time she has entered. I don't know why, I love the witch costume I made a couple of years ago. That one took some time and effort.

Here is a full picture:

Oct. 12, 2007 - Taco Hands
Posted in DDs Stuff

The whole family was riding in the truck last night. Okay, that's normal. I'm listening in to the conversations going on in the backseat. I about lost it when I heard what my 6yo said to her big brother.

DD: You can't touch me.

DS1: Why not?

DD: Cause you're a taco.

DS1: I can still touch you.

DD: Tacos don't have hands.

Long hesitation....

DD: UNLESS, your cheese fell out on both sides and you are using that.

DS1: Whatever!

Gotta love little kiddos.

Apr. 17, 2007 - Easy Bake Fun
Posted in DDs Stuff

Seems like my DD's Easy Bake Oven has been in overdrive for the past two weeks. Her and her brother have made themselves one cookie each, EVERY DAY. She made her daddy take her to Wal-Mart and buy her some more "REAL" mix. I guess the big box just isn't as good as those little packets.

These pictures are from her making cupcakes for her little girl's birthday party. It seems she has one everyday.

She got a little carried away with the sprinkles.

Feb. 12, 2007 - DDs Evening Gown
Posted in DDs Stuff

I had purchased some cheapo fabric from Wal-Mart and this is what I came up with.  Abigail wanted a fancy dress, but I wanted to make her a shirt.  She won.  Oh, well.

We did get to try out the Bedazzler we got for Christmas.  That thing is more complicated that one would think.  She did a great job with the heart on the front.  Plus, we had fun together.

Jan. 19, 2007 - it's Official.
Posted in DDs Stuff

It's official.  She is no longer a baby.  My only daughter, my youngest, turned six Thursday.  She has informed me that she "is now 'officially' a big girl."

She has enjoyed having her one day.  We had waffle stix for breakfast.  Then, we decorated her cupcakes.  She was pushing them into the decorations.  When I say pushing, I mean pushing hard.  For lunch we had quesadillas, her fave again.  Then it was time to decorate her birthday cake.  She was amazed at the fact that the oven could turn that liquid we poured into the pan into that solid cake.  This year, she picked out a doll cake.  She has had this cake planned out since the day after her birthday last year, no kidding.  She will pick one out for next year tomorrow.  I know, she's a little crazy, but I love her.

We had gotten her a Barbie doll cheerleader outfit and a Bratz hair doll.  She had to wear the outfit to her party at Mr. Gatti's.  I am used to her being all dressed up.  She once went to the library in a princess dress and high heels.  She clicked everywhere she went.   Not to mention, got all the looks.  I am one to stay away from gaining eye contact from others around me.  This is hard to do when your daughter has on a bright green dress and orange shoes that are harder than a brick.  I'm not sure where she gets her since of style.  Not me for sure, I'm a t-shirt and jeans with sandals all year long kinda girl.

Apr. 12, 2006 - As Seen On TV
Posted in DDs Stuff

On the way to Wally World today, my 5 year old DD was alerting me as how to make WOOD.  Here are her steps:

"Take two trees and squish them together."

"Stick that into a hard metal thingy and push it out."

"Take that piece and get a paintbrush."

"Put paint on it."

I asked her , on what, and she said "on the paintbrush. Duh"

"Paint it.  Flip it over"

"Paint it.  Flip it over"

"Paint it.  Flip it over"

"Let it cool off."

"Go nail it to the wall."

"At least, that's how they do it on TV."

This coming from the girl, who just earlier, told me she couldn't go to China, because she doesn't speak Spanish.
