• May. 11, 2008 - Parade and Picnic Update
We all had a great time yesterday at the parade and picnic. H walked alongside the cub scout float which all the boys were riding on. And I rode on the swim team float. My parents were designated candy catchers this year. I told my swimmers that my dad like tootsie rolls, so one of the little girls picked out a hand full of them and I threw them to him. I guess the boys were out of candy 2 blocks into the parade! Whoops!
After the parade we ate lunch at my parent's house, then headed to the park for the picnic. LV took of with his friends and $2 to spend on activities of his choice. D and LM played on the playground for a bit before LM headed over to the races with another family and I took D to get a snow cone. We met up with my parents and my mom sat with D while I went to see LM race. Of course I missed him. I was talked into running the adult race and ended up coming in 3rd. I was 5th until 2 women fell. But I earned a whopping $.50! D spent his money on the cake walk and came home with 2 plates of muffins (one of which we donated). LV ran around with his buddies and hit the petting zoo. Just before we left, LM got a balloon sword and LV won $1 playing BINGO!
Next we headed to the pool, because apparently my kids haven't spent enough time there in the past week. After we were sunburned and tired we headed home.
And the boys slept like rocks last night. |
