Jun. 18, 2008 - Drama Demon

I have a theory that many people have a drama demon camped out on their shoulder.  Now, I am not necessarily one to see a demon behind every bush, but I do believe that they are real.  In the last few weeks, I have been around some people that the drama demon theory could be a reasonable explanation for their behavior.  Now, I am no Pollyanna, but I do like to give people the benefit of the doubt and appreciate it when people do the same for me.  There are some of our sisters out there that assume the worst and feel compelled to tell everybody else how bad EVERYTHING is.  Is this because of past hurt? Is it because of a poor self-image? No.  It is because self continues to be more important than Jesus.  Do you look to stir up trouble and strife wherever you go or do you strive to be a peacemaker? Are things never good enough for you? Do people leave your company drained or refreshed?  If you have a Drama Demon camped out on your shoulder claim the power you have in Jesus and flick it off.

You could be talking about me! This is convicting and necessary--thanks! We all need to be reminded to "let our conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ"--Philippians 1:27.

Gin,
You know this is something I struggle with myself! Thankfully I have been sent a anti-drama husband to help me!

Jun. 19, 2008 - Fantastic hubbies, terrible anonymous comments

You and me both dear! God has blessed us with wise, Christ-honoring men who are a perfect foil to our rather, um, expressive natures.

RE: the now gone potty training post.

The anonymous comment where someone chastised you, dear friend, but didn't leave their name is a rarity here at HSB. I've never had someone be so rude, and I'm truly sorry it happened to you. I hope that person will in the future cease lurking behind anonymity and engage in productive dialogue, rather than shameful name-calling. That wasn't Christian nor mature and it's a sorry welcome to someone I know will be a bright voice here on HSB.

Telling one's child the truth in love is part of good parenting. Kasey never posted that she screamed at her child, abused him verbally [I know her well enough to vouchsafe that], or treated him in an accusatory manner.

How are children to know truth and lies if we don't teach them gently while young? Their own actions, responses, and behaviors aren't simply winked act and ignored. They are the stuff of teaching practical, eternal truths to little minds.

Anyway, welcome to HSB again. I hope in the future you will have no more of such silly antics, because this is a very good community on the whole. I've thoroughly enjoyed it over the last couple of years and met some fantastic, Godly women who would never dream of doing something so tacky and unChristian.

KEEP WRITING!
