Glad to be Among Friends

I'm so pleased to hang out here with other somewhat "clueless" bloggers, no offense ladies.

I have no idea how to put the Nice award on my side bar.  I can't even figure out how my background on my entries turned gray.

I'm considering taking a html class at the local community college in October, but I really don't have time, and if I did I would rather go scrapbooking.

I think I'll just limp along here.  Sort of like having coffee with good friends at the kitchen table instead of going out for fancy starbucks.  It is the company that matters most.

Absolutely.

I like that analogy. I would rather have coffee with creamer on my couch with a couple of good friends than Starbuck's anyday, I actually despise Starbuck's!

Thanks, once again, for provoking my thoughts beyond my sometimes limited sphere.....

And I don't care if thousands of bloggers visit my blog, or about fancy pictures, I just want to be me.

Lots of ***HUGS****!!!

Heidi- I have absolutely no idea how to change anything or post anything other than an entry! I have some great photos in my digital camera but no clue what to do to get them on the computer. How bad is that? I NEED a class. And I would much rather be here at "your home" with my cuppa than at Starbucks! God Bless! Kim

Everything I've learned about blogging has been serious trial and error and not being afraid to ask for help when I need it. I'm not promising this will work, but this is what I did when I had things appearing on my blog and had no idea how they got there.

1. Go into your template and copy and paste the whole thing to a Word document or the word processing program you use.

2. Go into "Choose New Template". Choose your current template (if you want to keep it.). This should re-load everything without the grey. Also, your sidebar is not the right size and it should fix that also.

3. When it re-loads, again copy and paste the entire template; this is in case you make a big mistake and need to re-load the whole thing. Be sure date it so you'll know what you're looking at if you need it later. You can delete the first copy you made.

4. To put the award in your sidebar I suggest you open a free account at www.photobucket.com . From there you can upload pictures from your computer and put them on your blog. They make it really easy.

5. Right click on the award and choose "save". This will save the award on your computer.

6. Go into your photo album at photobucket and choose "browse". This will bring up all the pictures on your computer. Double click on the award.

7. At photobucket choose "upload". Ta-Da! They will give you the html code to put the award in your sidebar. Right click on the code and choose "copy"

8. Go into your template and look for the words "Begin Right Side" or something like that.

9. Scroll down to where you want the award. Right click and choose "paste". Sometimes my template jumps to the wrong spot when I do that. If that happens, left click where you want the award first, then right click and paste.

10. On the bottom of the page choose "preview changes"

11. Keep working with it until you get it where you want it. When you like it, be sure to choose "save changes" or it will go away when you close the template page.

If you can't get it on the way you want it, e-mail me and I'll try to help. I want to take an html class that would be fine, but you DO NOT need one to work on your blog. Most of what's on my blog I just copied from what was already in my template. You'll get the hang of it, it just takes time.
