January 4, 2007 - Clothespin Ornaments

As I begin to pack away our favorite Christmas ornaments,

I thought I'd share a few simple ones that I made at Kanuga last year.

When I saw the pink(!) silk holly leaves, I couldn't resist using them as angel wings.

These ornaments are simply made with a square of felt turned on the diagonal and hot glued to a wooden clothespin. The top point was turned down and glued to form the bodice of the angel's gown. I twisted a simple halo from a sparkly pipe cleaner and glued on the whimsical wings.  Easy.

Here's another idea using the same technique:

Madonna and Child

Her arms are made from a pipecleaner (attached around her neck)

and the little babe is made from felt-wrapped pompoms.

And this one :

The Good Shepherd

Again, pipe cleaner arms, pompom lamb, and a sparkly shepherd's staff...

Wouldn't these be nice Sunday School teacher gifts?
