mozart & mud pies

April 11, 2008 - tiny world

Instead of our usual brisk hike through the woods, today we decided to meander slowly and observe

nature at ground level. Here, we discovered a beautiful microcosm of amazing variety and intricate detail.

Now, you must go see what Barb has been doing.  The "Green Hour Challenge" series  has been so inspiring for our homeschool this spring. Thank you, Barb, what a gift you've given us!

I'm continually humbled by the generosity of the homeschooling community.

Have a beautiful weekend, friends.

Great photos from the microscopic world....it is amazing what you will find when you look close enough. That is what this challenge is all about, opening up a whole new world.

Thanks for the link,

Amazing photos! You really capture the magic of nature! It is wonderful how such ordinary things become extraordinary when we take the time to look closely.

Thank you for the kind words.

My camera does all the work. Really.
I just press the button!

It's a Canon Power Shot SX100 IS
with 10X optical zoom. I usually use the macro setting for close-ups and detail, and I never use a flash.

We just love the snail you saw! The ones we found were bright green or had brown spirals on a yellow background!! Weird, eh?
