A very happy half-birthday to our dear Haleigh,
who is now 13 1/2 yrs. old!
Half-birthdays are pure fun-- just a silly, sweet tradition without much fuss.
Yesterday, I had a perfect reason to bake these since Haleigh loves the flavor of lemons. Naturally, lemon cream cheese icing makes a delicious partner to a moist, golden cake. This recipe is huge, so I used part of the batter for our half-cake: one round layer cut in half. The rest was made into cupcakes, which freeze nicely for future tea times.
God is so good.
And there are so many tiny reasons to be thankful.
