"Eyes" for Him!

"Eyes" for Him!

Tuesday, September 26, 2006 - My Husband's Ordination Service

Sunday night, Keith, my husband, was ordained as a deacon.  We had a beautiful service.  Elisabeth, our daughter, sang a song of the Marshall Family entitled, "A Vessel Unto Honor", while I accompanied her on the piano.

Some of Keith's former church family came down, including his former pastor, which was a surprise.  He knew a couple of them were coming, but there were two whole rows of them!  I know Keith was pleased.

My parents did not get to come as planned, as they are both having medical problems and it is a 4-5 hour drive for them, although Keith was going to go get them and I would have taken them back home.  My youngest brother had planned on coming also, but one of his children were sick.  So none of my family was there.  Keith's family lives in Ohio, so they couldn't come either.  But it was good to have spiritual family there.

Pray for us as we start out on this new adventure.  I feel that Keith has the qualification for this office.  He is very outgoing, never knows a stranger and could talk to anyone.  He is already doing the work of a deacon to some degree.  Visiting the sick and shut-in and helping those who need help.  But we need your prayers as we step out in this field.  I know the enemy will not like it, but "greater is he that is within me than he that is in the world."
