The Reason for Christmas
Christmas is coming, what a wonderful time
The presents are pretty; the food is sublime.
Bright holly is draped over windows and doors;
Sleigh rides go dashing through wintery storms.
Mince pies and puddings, candy and spice;
Turkey and ham, and everything nice;
Warm hugs of welcome as we go back home;
Holiday greetings come over the ‘phone.
There’s Christmas songs like “Jingle Bells”,
And “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”.
But songs and presents don’t quite make the day,
Not without Jesus who was born to save.
He was born in a manger at Bethlehem,
He came down from heaven to this darkened land;
He loved us so much that He died on a tree,
On Golgotha’s hill for you and for me.

Charity is what he brought when He came to
earth.
Holy angels declared his birth to the
shepherds.
Royal in all He does, through His Father,
God
Innocent all the time.
Shepherds go down to see Jesus in Bethlehem.
The wise men traveled from afar guided by a
Star.
Many gifts were brought to Him.
All this led to Jesus dying on the cross,
being buried in a tomb, and rising again
on the third day.
Son of God is He; the one who sits on the
throne at the right had of the Father.
