About Me

I am a blessed homeschooling mother of 6 married to my best friend Jim who is a naval aviator. Between deployments, moving, and new babies, life around our house is never dull for long and can often be quite entertaining. I've been told I should start writing it all down, so here goes...

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12

"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness." Hebrews 3:13

We Should Buy Stock in Lego

Birthdays always seem chaotic to me.  Probably because I'm so last minute in my preparations whenever DH is on deployment.  It is like a swarm of locusts just descended on the pile of presents and the cake and has now flown off to other regions of the house.  The last and best present was a new lego kit.  It's a house and the most complex thing we have bought (translation--most expensive), so all the kids are pitching in to assemble it.  I hate to tell them they will have to quit and go to bed in 10 minutes.  We have a field trip to Sea World bright and early in the morning.  Here are a few of the highlights.  I'm getting too tired to type up captions, so I will just leave it at visuals.

Okay, one caption!  Aren't these cool candles???  I got them at the Dollar Tree.  I love finding good loot there.  They worked great for ice cream cake and no wax on the frosting.
I also forgot to say that for his special birthday dinner he requested Pizza Hut cheese pizza, so I was let totally off the hook today.  They watched Man vs. Wild from Netflix while they ate.  We had put ourselves on the waiting list and it was released yesterday, just in time for the birthday.  Fun.  Fun.
Littlebit and I only made it through the first 15 minutes and then escaped to my bedroom to watch Caillou on the laptop and wrap the presents (I told you I'm very last minute.)  I have probably ruined the chances for my grandchildren to have decent birthdays, since both girls wondered aloud why I bother to wrap gifts when the paper will be pulled off momentarily.

You and I are of the same stock. I am a last minuet gal too. ((sigh)) You might think of cloth gift bag and you can use it over and over and over. And....less work for mom. [0= And....home ecconomics for the girls too ! Hey I am on a roll here. lol

I LOVE those candles. Good job finding them.

Sending you blessings and ((HUGS)) my SSiC

Looks like an awesome birthday to me! We should own stock in Lego too. My oldest wants to be a designer for them when he grows up. ;-)

It sounds like a great time, and the cake looks very yummy. I hope he has fun with the legos. :)
