About Me

I am a blessed homeschooling mother of 6 married to my best friend Jim who is a naval aviator. Between deployments, moving, and new babies, life around our house is never dull for long and can often be quite entertaining. I've been told I should start writing it all down, so here goes...

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12

"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness." Hebrews 3:13

Stop the Ride, I Want to Get Off!

Does anyone else feel like time is speeding up and life is spinning out of control?  I'm really really ready to S...L...O...W... things down a bit.  Two more weeks, and all will be right in the world again, only I can't say why yet, because I'm not allowed, but I bet you could guess if you really tried.

It's the reason I spent the morning at the spa.  Yes, I was completely self indulgent, and gave the kids the day off school so I could be polished and pampered.  And of course, everyone we know in the world called today, and of course the kids told EVERYONE, "Mom gave us the day off so we could watch the baby while she went to the spa."  They also called me about 10 times to find out if I was coming home yet and whether or not I was bringing food with me.  Lucky for me they don't allow cell phones in the facial room, so I was completely off limits for an hour.

I got a haircut, a facial and a pedicure.  My sweet sil gave me money for my birthday back in February to put towards the pedicure.  The haircut was long overdue (just call me shaggy) and I splurged on the facial to try and recover from the cheap moisturizer I told y'all about earlier.  It probably would have been more economical to throw the stuff away.

When I got home my 12 yo ds, God's Science Kid, wanted to know what I had been doing.  I said, well, I got my hair cut, my toes polished, and my face scrubbed.  He said, "Well you could have washed your face at home."

"Well, yes, I could have, but they used steam and special scrubs and lotions."

Audible gasp.

"Please tell me you didn't let them put pickles on your eyes!"

*smothering a giggle*

"Well actually, they use cucumbers and my eyes were closed, so I don't know what they put on them."

"Then you think they probably did, but you don't want to admit it."

I'm excited for you, even though you can't say why you are excited. ;) A day at the spa, I've never had one of those, but I am way overdue for a haircut too. Other things more important right now to spend the money on. I'm not sure if I could get a pedicure, I don't like people touching my feet. :) Any pictures of the 'new' you? :)

Your son is a riot! I love the way he thinks. :)

I'm so glad you got to go to the spa, and even happier that your world will be right again soon!!!

I just looked at your wreath, too. It's gorgeous! Since I was born without a craft gene in my body, I'm extra impressed! lol Seriously, you did a great job.
