O.K. This is the first time I have ever blogged before but I am really hoping someone will read this and have some suggestions as to how I can keep my sanity.

I mean we are not new to homeschooling but apparently there is a big difference in homeschooling teenagers.  All of a sudden I am hearing "I'm Bored" every 20 minutes and I just keep thinking to myself "What was i thinking. Why did I think homeschooling was a good idea."

We recently moved to a new town where we don't know anybody and so I get to hear the "I'm Bored" even more now. The town we moved to is a small town in Tennessee called Leoma so you guessed it no homeshcool group. I am seriously thinkin about starting one here.

If any of you out there have any experience or could offer me any advice on starting a homeschool group please, please, please let me know.

I will definately keep you posted on this new adventure!

Hi, My name is Josephine and I live in Anderson, Alabama, which is about 15/20 minutes from Leoma. My house is exactly 1 mile from the Tennessee border. I have a really good friend named Belinda who lives in Loretta, Tennessee and she is involved in a homeschool group and I know that she would just love to get you involved. She is a wonderful person and is our Kid's Church Director. Since we live so close to one another, maybe one day we could meet. Who Knows? If I can be of any help to you, please let me know.
Talk later,
Josephine

Well, I haven't had experience in starting a homeschool group but I can relate to the teen thing. I have a 15 yr old son and it is sometimes like pulling teeth to get him to do his schoolwork. Then the "I'm bored thing". Well I think that when mine tell me that, I quickly find something to get them busy. Dishes, laundry, yardwork, dusting, windows, and such. They have learned for the most part to not inform me of their being bored any longer. I just respond with "would you like me to give you something to do?". LOL So it doesn't always work but for those times it does, I am thankful.
You'll be in my prayers.

I saw Josephine at church and she told me about your blog. I hope you got my emails about the homeschool meeting tomorrow. There are actually two groups in Lawrence Co. This is the only one I have ever been a part of. I sure hope you come out and join us tomorrow. I would also like to invite you to our church, Lexington Church of God. Even though it is AL it isn't very far from Leoma. About half our members are from TN. I am over Children's Church. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I do look forward to meeting you and your family.
