it's been a super-action-packed month!

my mum and sister came over for a visit from South Africa. it was a wonderful chance to catch up after so many years...here's a quick sampling of what we've been up to.

-we started with a 3-day stay at Pulau Ubin. Sam loved the pool and jacuzzi. she wasn't too impressed when we got caught in a downpour at Ubin Town though. at the end of the stay, as usual, the kids didnt want to go home.

-once we were back, kynan and kayla had their usual montessori class. our guests came along, and Sam enjoyed doing puzzles in particular.

-gym and chinese classes were ongoing. we all went along, dropped kynan, then swam during and after. Sammy was so completely at home in the water. Kay loved throwing balls and water-bombs to her. it was such fun interraction for them. and kynan proudly related all his new achievements to granny and i after...

-a new experience for Sam and mum, was walking considerable distances to get to the classes and back. they found a whole new appreciation for aircon! (and Sam lost some of her waistline in the process...)

-for e 1st week or 2, both were ensconsed in their aircon bedroom while we were home. they really found it veeery hot!  mum seemed to have aclimatised after abt 10days. but Sam only started joining us in the fan-cooled living-room 1 week before she left. :)

-our days were busy as usual. but unlike previous weeks, we mostly had only 1 activity planned per day.  we also had a rest day at home occassionally to catch up. :) none-the-less, they were quite exhausted after each day's happenings, and were usually in bed between 8 and 9pm!
