Cub Scouts do the HSBC Treetop Hike...

this last sat was a fun and tiring day....

we had to meet at 1.30 at e venus drive carpark. from there e kids were dxopped at a 'guard houuse' of some silly club's "private road". they walked along e road and up through some long grass before heading into e trees. from then onwards it was relatively cool because of e shade. e pace was pretty fast, so unfortunately e kids didnt have time to observe e scnery, s.low down, spot wildlife, study leaves and plants and native trees and bushes. we went past a beautiful little stream qt a long way in and i wd hv loved to hv stopped to let e kids kick off their shoes and paddle a bit. another mum suggested we shd come back to do just that. ah great,  but then we'd need e dads to help with the ferrying, esp for those with younger kids. but worth trying again... perhaps we shd arrange it with the homeschoolers one saturday :)

we got back to e venus carpark at ard 5.30pm. we were one of the 1st couple to arrive as we'd set out a few minutes ahead of the rest. dh carried kayla on his shoulders almost half the way, so he was really exhausted. he'd stepped up his pace so he cd get back sooner :)  i'm glad he decided we shd all go along and that he'd help with her. it wwas good for all of us.

at e field behind the carpark, e new scouts were going to hv their investiture, while some others were getting badges. our 2 got their bronze arrow badges, which my hubby thot was very unfair, since he'd taken a long while to earn his through the school ;) kay was so cute the way she did a wonderful sharp salute when she got hers. she must hv bn observing the others. :) so glad i caught it on video! :b

by 6.30pm we were all itching to go for dinner. kay was really hungry and kept nagging us to go get food. so we didnt even hv time to stop and chit-chat w e other parents. after dinner at T/Plaza. we headed straight home. no time for stories... just a kwik bath and straight to bed. kay slept super fast, ky after, and i was in bed by 10pm. yes, i felt truly exhausted. (slept ard 3/4hrs only e nt b4 as e kids were having nightmares and allergies, so i had a good excuse to be tired ;))
