NaNoWriMo: Day 10Yup, I'm still plugging away at this thing they call a novel. There are days when I can write thousands of words, and then there are days when I don't even open my documents. Of course, there have only been ten days since NaNo started, and here I am talking as if I have been doing this for a least a month.The novel is doing well. I think. So...I really don't have much else to say on the matter. Copyright 2009 Defective Compositions NaNoWriMo Day 10Word Count: 20,903 "How could anyone throw away this happiness? How could anyone reject such joy?" Well I'm still plugging away, boosting my word count by the thousands every night, and every day when I wake up setting myself an impossible goal I know I can't reach, but I do anyway. The plot is coming along nicely, I've been rather surprised at how easy this story has been to write, then again it's been waiting for November for the last seven months. Its been amazing discovering more about my characters, and the places they live in. Each day of writing I find out something knew and exciting about one of them. I expected to grow tired of my book title, my names, and my characters, but instead they have gotten even more interesting to me, and I'm still totally in love with the name Wynn Ainsley. There have been moments of stress, in fact just the other night I was in near panic because I couldn't get the NaNo website to load, therefor making it impossible for me to update my word count. Since I had just breached the 20,000 mark it was rather disappointing I couldn't do it right away. After a few more tries however, all was well. So, that's how my NaNo has been going. Even though I'm not getting very many comments, things might happen where people come back to blogging, and then, when they come back, I'm actually have posted! :)This week, nothing really significant happened. We did a full week of school, putting us past the 50 days mark. That means there's only 130 more to go. :) This week, we'll be doing a lot of cleaning, and cooking, for my birthday party on next Sunday. 7 days until I'm 16. :) Natalie is coming in 13 days, less than a week. I'm really excited to see her again, and of course, I'll be sure to post pictures on my blog, of when she's here. Her younger sister is coming to hang out with Gracie for the weekend, so I'm sure that it will be fun for both Gracie and I. Tonight, I'm headed to my church for youth group. Our church just started having youth, so right now, it's only a once-a-month thing. But it's still a lot of fun, and I get to see my friends again! :) I'll post again sometime next week. After all these years-**counts**-er, after this YEAR, I have said-or at least thought- how depressing it would be to move...but...I am moving. That is final. ME NEW BLOG ~Katy "Please Mom?"That is what mom hears when I find another free download of a photoshop program. So far, I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 (yes, it is really old...) and Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 (another older version), Adobe's Artweaver, and now Picasa. The other day I found out what neat things Google's Picasa can do. So I downloaded it. (if you do download it, be warned that it can be a headache and you might end up reinstalling it because you did it all wrong...) Probably my favorite feature is the handy "collage" button. You select the photos, and in one click you have a collage. It takes a few more clicks to get the settings right though. This collage was mady with 250 photos, or something close... The only problem is that with so many photos it makes them really really tiny! Well, they aren't tiny until you resize it... But there was no way I was putting a picture that was abut 5000 pixels wide on my blog!   Here is another one I made with only pictures of Elisabeth's face.
 Speaking of faces, Picasa has the neatest feature where it can sort faces! Only once did it think that Alison was me. :-) Even the computer thinks we're twins! LOL!
This last one is just a few random pictures that I've taken that I really like. I'll probably make quite a few more collages with my pictures! It's really fun!  I've learned a few things about Picasa the hard way, but now that have figured a few things out not to do, I'll never never NEVER do them again! LOL!
