I have been absent dear readers and I have no real excuse. Beyond being busy and not managing my time well, I have not made the effort to post. Forgive my fallen heart. I am finding as we do in this journey that though I have systems in place to keep my home running smoothly, if I don't implement the systems then they don't work. It is a cycle that I catch myself doing. I find I am doing too much work around here instead of implementing the systems in place to get those around me working too. I believe that all children need to have chores. It is not because I am lazy or want to sit and eat bonbons all day. Oh no believe me sometimes it is easier if I do the work than train them! But in the long run, training our kids in doing chores will greatly help us keep our sanity and keep our homes running smoothly. Not to mention that having daily chores can help to have kids who have a strong work ethic, are responsible and by all means not lazy! Of course there are other factors in there but I do not want my daughters to grow up, become wives and not know how to manage their homes. I want my sons to support their wives being home to raise their families because they know how much work it takes to run a home. These are all important factors in having daily chores. It is in this training and implementing the training that I have recently fallen short - again! Not new for me, but still something that I strive to become more consistent with. This topic will be covered later in greater depth in my Home Management Series. In the meantime I will implement my own ideas more here at home! Yikes its no fun to preach to myself :) I am heading out to a homeschool conference in two days so look for the first installment in the series next week. Many Blessings - Janelle |
