• Sunday 1 March 2009 - Turkish Food, Can You Say Yummy! Noah pudding, manti, excetra

So yesterday we went to a Turkish Food Festival. It turned out to be a fund raiser for a Turkish community center in SLC. O my goodness! YUMMY!
We had Manti  manti, that is wikapida explaines "In Turkish cuisine, manti are typically served topped with yogurt and garlic and spiced with red pepper powder and melted butter. Ground sumac and/or dried mint can be added to taste. Manti may be made from shredded meat of quail or chicken in some regions of Turkey."
We had El acması borek kinda a puff pastery filled with ground meat filling,
I think this is the right stuff, Icli Kofte ours seemed oranger,
Some of theseonly the ones we had were crustier and made me think of hot pokets bruito wraped.
They had these too
They have a meat filling as well.
Also Noah's pudding or ahura..i think thats the right word
(Its sweet, citrusy and kinda makes me think of oatmeal)
And of course they had some tasty baklavah. I'm not going to post a pic of baklavah because most peole are familiar. By the way I do NOT like it when there is lots of cinimon in it. There is a good greek restaruant here that has bad baklavah, its chewy like hard candy and tastes like red hots. YUCK, no this that we had was good stuff, alhumdulillah.
