Why weren't women circumcised? I contend that having a baby removed our flesh instead. Consider the following:
Soon after we discover we are pregnant, the process of removing our fleshy layers begins:
We lose our breakfast when morning sickness hits.
We lose our figuresw as trim waists bulge.
We lose our inhibitions when the OB/Gyn probes us in humiliating places.
We lose our sweet dispositions, becoming cranky, tired, and emotional from a hormonal roller coaster ride.
We lose our agility, becoming so cumbersome we can barely touch our toes.
We lose our sleep; it's hard to rest on bowlling balls.
We nearly lose our lives delivering our babies.
We lose all rights to our bodies as we become human milking machines.
We lose our time, it all goes to our babies.
We lose receiving affection; affection for husbands go to babies
We lose dates with husbands while caring for babies.
We lose our incomes, opting to stay home and care for babies.
We lose desire for material possession as our attentions become drawn to toys.
We lose our peace when babies cries and we can't figure out why.
We lose our thoughts; they are concentrated on the needs of the baby.
We lose our creativity; creative juices are focused on babies.
We lose our decorating style, as home decorating becomes childproofing.
We lose our clothing styles, as we opt for clothing that allows breastfeeding.
We lose the ability to pick up and go on the spur of the moment, planning for baby takes time.
We lose our flexibility, adapting to baby's schedule instead.
That's only the beginning of a circumcision process that continues for the rest of our lives. And the funny part is, we mothers usually want more than one!
As we lose ourselves in the process of having a baby, we move to a higher dimension! We discover a greater level of love and a willingness to lay down our lives in a way we never could have imagined. I believe that's why women didn't require circuncision!
