Last week i had a dream about listening to my i-pod. Through the earphones, I could hear my husband's voice saying, "Don't put $58 on the credit card. You will reach our limit and then what will we do. Don't do it" I changed tracks, not wanting to listen. There were only four other tracks. On the fifth track, there was his voice again. I woke up wondering if I would come across $58 for something I was going to really want and if I would have to choose not to get it. It was interesting to me that it was on the fifth track, five means grace wherever found in the Bible.
Two days later, I went to Lowe's to get paint for a bathroom. While there, I decided to look at the accessories before making the paint color decision, since the accessories would affect the color I chose. I found a mirror I liked very much. When I looked at the price tag, it was $58. I couldn't believe it. I called my husband to find out if we had enough for it and he said, just put it on the credit card. I said no, I can't do that. He said, just write a check and he would transfer money. I said I'd better wait (I explained the dream to him later).
The next day I went to a sale on clothes my children needed. At the cash register, the number 58 flashed again. This time it showed a savings of $58. I was telling a friend on the phone about it and she said she wondered if Psalm 58 had anything to do with what was going on. So I asked God if there was a text. Instantly, Isaiah58NewExpressions flashed in my mind, the website of Shawn Boltz. When I looked it up, I found out Isaiah 58 was what I believe the Lord wanted to teach me. If I could mirror that, I would be like Jesus! Every time I go to buy something, I think about whether I really need it. Because I do want to have the money to do for others as the need arises!
"Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house - when you see the naked, that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from the needs of your own flesh and blood? Then shall your light break like the morning, (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily, your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn (toward oppressed or the godly), and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking. And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom becomes like the noonday. And the Lord shalll guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make storng your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundation of [buildings that have laid waste for] many generations; and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. If you turn away your foot from [traveling unduly on] the Sabbath, from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a [spiritual] delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and honor Him and it, not going your own way or seeking or finding your own pleasure or speaking with your own [idle] words, Then will you delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with heritage [promised for you] of Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. |
