Alaska Governor Sarah Palin answered all my questions about whether she has what it takes to be a Vice President. As a mother who went against doctor's advice to abort her baby and with an unmarried teenage pregnant daughter, the unborn child will have an advocate. Her views run counter to what Obama once said about abortion. He said he believed in abortion because if his daughter got pregnant, he would want her to have a way out so she wouldn't have to have a baby.
While I realize that Obama is running for presidency and Palin is only a running mate for the presidency, her record is superior to his in every way.
While Palin has decisively moved forward against corruption in her state, Obama has not been able to move decisively on anything against his bid for presidency. I was very disappointed to learn that America is considering someone who refused to vote 130 times because he couldn't make a decision. We need a decisive person in the White House.
In her speech, she demonstrated that she can be tough where one needs to be tough. She reduced the Alaskan budget by $254 million in Alaska over the past 20 months. She went against corruption, even from her own party, ruthlessly. As one who signed a bill to get the largest pipeline project going, she knows how to solve our energy problems.
Alaska now has a surplus whereas Obama's plans are for increased government spending at the expense of taxpayers. Alaska taxpayers got refund checks and still the state had a surplus!
Sarah Palin sees the amount of money that is sent to countries who do not have our best interests at heart as being foolish. The Democratic party doesn't think it is. They took a five week vacation instead of dealing with the problem. While we fund the terrorists who could destroy us, they are vacationing in exotic places.
Governor Palin recognizes that finding alternative ways to provide our own energy without buying resources from other countries keeps the American dollar here. As the American dollar gets stronger, spending in this country increases, business grow and everyone prospers.
As a mother of a military son who is going to Iraq next week, we will have an advocate for the armed forces. As a mother of a baby with Downs Syndrome, we will have an advocate for those with special needs. As the daughter of educators, the issue of education will have an advocate in the White House. As a wife to a steelworker union husband, steelworkers will have an advocate. As a woman who enjoys hunting, she will be an advocate for the NRA. As a devout Christian, we know God will be in the White House. |
