A curious thing happens each morning in my schoolroom with my children. Our lessons fit together in a cohesive whole. We began this morning with Answers in Genesis A is for Adam and today we were on Q. We talked about how Adam and Eve probably learned about the redemption plan but may have believed that Cain would fulfill it. He may have really let them down. Then we read verses from the Old Testament about the prophetic words of Jesus' coming on earth. We talked about how the Jews were deceived because they didnt recognize Him when they saw Him, despite the prophetic words about Him. Then we began reading Wendy Alec's book The Fall of Lucifer. The chapter we were on talked about the deception of the fallen angels, even though some had close positions with the Almighty God. Yet close as they were to the throne, they were deceived. I told my children this morning that my greatest prayer for them was they we all would not be so deceived that we would not recognize Jesus when He is near because today His Kingdom is at hand.
Tonight, I listed to a sermon my pastor gave while I was on vacation. It was about not being deceived. He prayed Ephesians 1, that we would have a spirit of wisdom and understanding to understand Him so we would not be decieved.
Before going to bed, I wanted to listed to one more teaching. It was about the same subject - praying that we would not be deceived! |
