Homeschooling Katt

Aug. 11, 2008 - The Olympics

I thought since the 2008 Olympics are in progress we would use it as a learning opportunity. I have never been a big sports person unless you count the fact I love swimming and I used to roller skate (used to meaning 25 + years ago). Funny now that I am so much older and certainly not able to be athletic I have enjoyed the little bit of Olympics I have watched. Surprisingly the kids have enjoyed what they have watched.

I figured we could use the Olympics as a way to learn of other cultures , geography , history, and current events. I also hope it could encourage the kids to be athletic and take good care of their bodies.

Here are some links I have found I thought other homeschoolers might find helpful.

I'm a big believer in taking my educational opportunities as they come. It's wonderful that you can use the Olympics that way. I've done it too.

So glad you like the couch. Maybe I should call Ikea. hehe! Really, I just enjoy custom made furniture, but feel free to borrow the idea!

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
