Jan. 16, 2009 - Inauguration Resources

What better time to start learning about the President and his job than to start with the day he is sworn into office.

We are going to do some lessons dealing with the inauguration. We are going to watch (per tv) the inauguration. I am thinking of a inaugurtion themed snack party to go along with our viewing. I would love suggestions on themed snacks if any of you have them.

I have also found some neat printable resources to go along with the inaugural theme.

What a good idea. We are going to watch, too, but I hadn't really thought about doing all those extras. I think we will! How fun.

As Americans I feel a lot of pride has been lost . I want my kids to learn that they should have pride in being American . I also think it is important to teach them to be involved in the system...voting standing up for their beliefs, being a good citizen..etc.
Maybe if I teach them those things now they will carry it into their adult life and make a difference for others.
