I have studied classical education for 4 years but I just finally "got it" this year and we are proceeding with a group of other families to teach the classical model, meeting once a week for encouragement, review, etc.
I think I want to add Ray's 'math to our "school" this year and I found a great link http://www.albright-news.com/rays_arithmetic.html This math goes great with the McGruffey readers we haven't done until now.
This is a great link to begin thinking of the school year coming up! It has a lot of things I was planning on covering. Great as supplemental, or to begin your own curriculum!
We are a homeschooling family of 5. Our school is our life and we are very active. We like child-led, interest-led, Christ-led learning. This takes us on many different paths from school-at-home, to unschooling, to classical, to eclectic. We use Robinson, Abeka, Saxon, Oldfashioned Education, Ambleside and anything else that will fit the need at the moment. We learn, play and grow together.
