Confessions from the Rubber Room...

• May. 23, 2007 - Playing Tag and Two Truth's

I finished it finally.  Here you go Cindy! This tag was very difficult.  As I mentioned in my last post, I am just not that interesting.  I have tried to think of random things about myself, likes dislikes, quirks and such, to no avail.  I'm officially boring.  Here goes.

And here are the rules:  Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. You need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

I have kankles - What's a kankle you ask?  A ankle is when the calf and the foot merge together, effectively cutting out the middle man, (the ankle.)  Another words, I have hideous legs.  I *never* wear shorts or a bathing suit. I am not lying. Don't make post a picture!  This leg is not mine, but you get the idea.

The feel of soap drives me nuts.  You heard it here!  When my hands get pruney in the shower, the feel of soap on my hands actually makes me physically ill.  My mouth even waters like a faucet.  A similar reaction to what someone would get when someone runs their nails down a chalkboard, but more extreme. The hair on my arms is standing up just thinking about it and I have chills.  I know, bizarre.  This makes bathing very difficult.  I overcome it by being fast and thinking about something else.  I don't have to be in the shower for it to effect me.  Anytime I think about it, it causes the same physical reaction.  I would love to know the science behind this, but I'm not sure what it's called.  The heebie jeebies?

I love words.  Yup, I'm a word geek.  You would never know it by reading my blogs posts.   That is because I write daily during a frenetic slurry of activity and I cannot concentrate enough to form even part of an mildly interesting sentence.  I love words so much that when I come across a word I love I write in on a sheet of paper that is taped next to my desk for future use. ( What a geek!)

I was mentored by two lovely giving people.  The husband owned a major publishing company that he passed on to his children.  They live on their sail boat now and purchased a portion of an island that they frequent.  We lost touch and have not spoken in several years.  Something I must change.

I have no real desire to travel except to Sudan and Israel.   OK, well I guess Hawaii could be on that list too!

I really enjoy true crime and would watch Dateline or 20/20 everyday of the week if I could.  Something that is probably not too healthy of a habit.  My mother loved true crime as well.  She was a mystery watcher through my entire childhood.  Thanks to TIVO I do get to watch it on occasion.

If I could do it all over, I would've been a graphic designer.  I love computer graphics and would love to build websites as a profession.  Not that there is any money in it, but that has never been a driving force for me.  I have always preferred contentment over cash.

The seven people I am tagging are: Juliemomof3, schoolmommy3, Diane, TheMonkeyParade, Carrie louise, soccerchicksta21, JNLANG

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last weeks lie is...I don't love pedicures,  which is only half true because I love the end result on these tired old feet.
I think from your guesses, you must all think I am the tattoo type!  I actually have spent quite some time with laser treatments trying to remove my mistakes.  Much less costly to make the right decision the first time around!
Because I am so busy, I am skipping next week's Two Truth's and a Lie.  Tune in the following week ,Lord willing.
NO WAY! I have kankles, too, but I just didn't know the word for it! A friend just told me "helpfully" that perhaps it would be better if I wore a little bit of a heel on my sandals. :)
AND, I don't like real soap, either. Only liquid soap. I even take it to hotels with me so I don't have to use the bar soap there!
I want to hear some of the words you have taped up! What are your current favorites? :)
Thanks for playing, friend. You made me laugh. Although you definitely need to give up the no shorts or swimsuit rule. You're so skinny! (I don't wear shorts, either. I'm so jealous of people with ankles.)
I would say a fear of soap would come from getting your mouth washed out with it on a regular basis. I don't fear it, but not because my mom didn't try hard enough!
Natural chain of events, if you hate soap and pedicures start with soap, you would hate pedicures.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
I will have to think about this. Asking me to list random things about myself could prove to be dangerous since one never knows what might spew from my brain. I will post it later today.
Thanks, Carrie
That was fascinating. Thanks for sharing....
So I just wanted to let you know that I posted the second part of the post that you commented on a few days ago about my healing....but for some reason I couldn't edit it to make it shorter. the first half of the post is what you read a few days ago. The last half is the good stuff - that shows exactly how awesome God is and how he helped me!!!!!! You will want to scroll past the part you alread y read and get to the good stuff :)
I will get this up on my blog later today if I don't run out of time again.
I don't like the way soap feel either, I always put the soap in a soap cozzie that I make, then it feels like a scrubby and feels nice on your skin.
Okay, the soap thing is weird.
The word thing... makes you interesting and slightly nerdy. The love of words is not what makes it slightly nerdy, but the writing of them down!
I admit, I am a nerd at heart as well. My problem is that while I wish to write them down for later use, I am too LAZY to do it!
So there you go. Fellow geek (and proud of it!) but alas, a lazy one (not too proud of that part). ;-)
I am glad to know you. You really are a lot of fun (nice ankles, by the way!).
No, I didn't make the hat, but I thought I might need to take a pattern of it to make another one when she outgrows this one, so, if so, I'll post that, THEN, you can be impressed!
later,
Janelle
