My Garden of Flowers

• May. 3, 2007 - Leogland Lapbooking

The children are doing quite well with their Legoland study, which will eventually be a Lapbook for them to show what they learned.  Yesterday that made a map of the locations where the 5 LegoLands are around the world.  We picked up books at the library to use for today and the rest of the week on the various countries and states (that we will use with another part of the study).  Using several forms from EnchantedLearning.com they made a simple report on England, Denmark and Germany.  They had to work together to gather facts and complete the project.  Both of the kids did very well on it.

Tomorrow we will finish up putting together those reports to include int their lapbooks.  We will then start working on "MiniLand" a part of the park at Legoland that features different landmarks around the USA.  I was able to get some educational material from the legoland website to include in this part of our project.  We won't actually finish our lapbooks until we get back so we can make sure we anything else that might be important to them after we visit the parks.  It's been a nice change of pace for us and I think they will find a lot of what they learn to be helpful when we get to Legoland next week.
