Sep. 29, 2008 - An Easier Way?
Okay, I have decided it's much to much work to log on constantly to record what I am eating throughout the day so I am just going to do a general post about the positives and negatives of each day, like this (an example):
-I drank a cup of pop
+I have four bottles of water
+I did 30 minutes of walking
-I had extra helping of mashed potatoes
This will be like evaluating each day, take a shorter period of time and free up the time I spend on here. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy blogging :)
God bless,
And did you see the countdown has begun?????

Sep. 28, 2008 - Blessed Sunday menu
Hello. I hope you are having a blessed Sunday! There is such a great feeling on Sunday's when you have found a church and know that you are with fellow believers :)
Breakfast: 1 cup Whole grain Cheerios 23 carbs 1 cup milk on cereal 12 carbs total: 35 (way to many carbs for breakfast but I am praying that it will carry me through the morning, church and home again before my b.s. starts dropping.)
Snack: 3 glucose tablets
Lunch: 3 small slices of frozen pizza (no idea of carbs but it is still down from my usual 6 or so slices)
Snack: 1 packet of sour patch kids, I think there were 20 carbs (not sure though)
Dinner:
Bedtime snack:

Sep. 27, 2008 - Menu
Hello. I am going to list what I have to eat here through out the day (since I don't plan lunch and snacks ahead of time) although with carb count if I know it :)
Breakfast: 2 homemade pancakes w/ some butter and syrup (don't know carbs but better than the 4 or 5 I usually eat) and some milk w/ my meds/supplements.
Snack: nothing
Lunch: summer sausage, crackers, cheese and water
Snack: nothing (this is very unusual but my b.s. have been pretty good, no lows)
Dinner: spaghetti w/ read sauce w/grated parmesan cheese (small plate) salad, water
Bedtime snack: a few vanilla wafers and a little milk (if I don't eat my b.s. spikes and my fasting #s are high so eating something helps to control that)
Off to fix dinner.

Sep. 26, 2008 - First entry!
After seeing my friend, Pam had started a new blog My Weight Loss Adventures I decided to follow in her lead and hopefully add some extra accountability to my life. My other blog is about documenting home life, homeschooling and even *gasp* political happenings (although cutting back on that too LOL). I WILL NOT be weighing myself. Our scale doesn't work and I'd prefer to just go by how my wedding band or clothing fits until I get to a point I NEED to weigh myself. For the past two weeks I have been watching what I eat and how much I eat, my husband has been duly impressed. Usually I only watch my intake when I am pregnant and gestational diabetic, not a good thing. So I start now, before God blesses my womb again. Instead of using a huge dinner plate (unless I am having a salad) I use a small dessert/salad plate to help control my portions. Also I try to limit my intake of desserts to only one or none a day. I have also only had about 3 cups of soda in about the past three weeks :) and am drinking more water, lots and lots of water - even getting somewhat used to the taste of tap water **shock** Counting carbs isn't hard to do especially if you know that controlling carbs can also help with lowering blood sugar (I am Type 2 diabetic but it doesn't ruin my life like commericials would have one believe) which in turn can help with lowering my very high cholesterol. I will try to post what I eat for meals and snacks. I have to usually eat every two hours or my sugars will go dangerously low I have gone as low as 40 before, which is not a good thing and can lead to a coma. I'd also like to see if losing weight will help with my migraines. I already have more energy, if doing laundry and dishes or embroidery at midnight is any indication. I have also broken my addiction to Tim Horton's and have only had one in three weeks and that was a small (usually I have a large) and we have only eaten out twice in two weeks. My wedding band is also fitting looser. So okay I think that is it for my first entry check back for more later.
God bless.
