My Quivers Full

May. 10, 2007 - Second Base?

Okay, I griped about this to my husband last night, but with a blog I can do it again!!  Last night was the first practice for our boys playing T-ball at the local YMCA.  There is one child on Little Monkeys team that is so little he looks like he's shorter than Peanut (2).  Granted, Peanut is really tall for his age, but this other kid must be a midget.  His brother was pretty doggone short too, so I'm thinking their kids just run on the really small side.

Anyway, since none of these kids have ever played baseball before they didn't know where on earth they were supposed to run when someone hits the ball.   This kids parents were shouting at him (not angrily mind you, just to guide him where he should go) to "go to second base!!  Get to second base!!"  This little, bitty child yelled back "just like on t.v.?!"  The parents thought this was pretty funny, since he didn't mean the second base of baseball.  Who are these people?

As my husband says . . . "ahhh, socialization."

Yep, that's socialization. We're on a t-ball team, too, this year. (eyes rolling) Sadly, we have to worry about this sort of thing even kids at church, too.

Thank the Lord for protecting the innocence of our children even in the midst of "the world". :)
