Mar. 14, 2008 - What's On YOUR Fridge?
So here's a fun meme. Heart at Home is hosting the What's on your fridge? meme and contest. The contest part? Two winners will win "Clutters Last Stand". With that as a prize, how could you not award me when my fridge looks like this:
Let me explain. You see, Peanut (3) has a thing for alphabet magnets. We have one of those Leap Frog alphabet things that sings the song. He loves it. He also loves arranging the letters in order. Little Monkey (5) enjoys making words out of the magnets. Therefore, we have an alphabet and a half on our fridge. Little Monkey also loves drawing and printing pictures for me off of his computer games. If you look closely you can see a paper with nine circles. Those are Toy Story characters. They are supposed to be stickers you can print out. We don't have sticker paper. Little Monkey and Peanut don't care. They print it out anyway. That's the whole bottom section of the front of my fridge. The top section contains things we don't want to lose (bills, appointment cards, etc.) and coupons to use (Papa Johns, Blockbuster). Umm, there's also a few drawings up there that were too sweet to send away just yet.
This side of the fridge is for my miscellaneous stuff. Lets see. We have my take out menus, speech therapy sheets for Big Man (8), nursery schedules/phone numbers, and grocery lists. I also have a few misc. things that the kids have made me and brought to me as I am making dinner. I stick it on the side of the fridge because I don't know what else to do with it.
This side of the fridge is the most reasonable. It's the side the kids chore cards are on. It has to stay fairly clean or they can't keep track of their chores. Then they would have an excuse as to why they didn't do all of their chores, even though they do the exact same chores every day of their little lives!
As you can see, my fridge is weighed down with clutter. Don't I deserve one of those lovely clutter books? Sad but true. Fly Lady would call my fridge a "hot spot". I just don't have the heart to take a lot of it down. (Not to mention that you must do so sllloooowwwllly, lest the little ones notice what you're up to!)
