Jun. 23, 2008 - A party that's out of this world
Little Monkeys (6) birthday party was Saturday and it was an absolute blast. Before we get to that, since Friday was his actual birthday here are a couple of pictures.
All the boys like the Star Wars action figures!
Since the big cake was being saved for the party, we had birthday cupcakes instead
Peanut (3) enjoyed his cupcake!
Little Monkey had a great day and is excited about the party coming up.
Now for the big day!! We were able to have a few friends over for the afternoon for a Star Wars pool party. The pool noodle light sabers were a big hit, especially when paired with the Slip & Slide!
All the kids liked knocking the dark side out of the Darth Vader pinata (Sorry this picture isn't very good, my hubbie was in charge of pictures. He tries.)
The candy pileup:
You know what really makes me frustrated? I made the best cake ever, and I was so rushed I totally forgot to take a picture for posterity. Grrrrrr!!!!! Well, here's a picture from the website where I got the idea:
I actually got the cake to look about identical to this. It was so great! The figures on top of the cake were a gift to LIttle Monkey since they were action figures that he had wanted. That was a nice little treat for him. I think I had as much frosting as cake for the mountain area, but for some strange reason the kids didn't mind that one bit
It was a really great party, and some of the parents stayed to party so we got to have friends over for a day of fun, not just Little Monkey
You know, looking at these pictures, it's really a shame my kids are unsocialized homeschoolers

That is a FABULOUS party!!!!!!!! My sons would LOVE that, and I need your help for future reference!
My older son's birthday is in September, and he would be so happy if I could do this kind of thing for him. Do you have links to the cake and other things you found and used? I am the least creative when it comes to things like this, but with a little help. . . .
Boy, am I glad I saw this! Happy birthday to the little man!
