from Rags to Rabbi – A Must Read

Before you read the review regarding Rags to Rabbi, I need to say that if it wasn’t through The Dixon Family - again dear friends of mine, then I am not sure if I would have come across the link which led to my friendship with Carmen.  Her book is a must read………………..

From the Inside Out – God’s Remarkable Healing

Rags to Rabbi has to be one of the hardest books I have ever read and one where I had to put down several times, why? This lady has been through only what I can describe as “Hell on earth” and trust me I don’t use this phrase lightly!

How Carmen is where she is today is through both God’s obedience & His grace. If she hadn’t handed her life over to God, her story would have turned out so very different!

She has suffered from her perpetrators, sexual, physical and mental abuse in the worst way possible from the time she was a tiny baby – the suffering and pain she went through, both inside and out we can not begin to comprehend. The emotional turmoil of  isolation, loneliness, bitterness, frustration & betrayal she must have felt over and over again, let alone the question of why? Her constant cries to God to release her from the various prisons of her life, the frustration, the anger at not being heard could have left her tainted, bruised and an absolute mess for the rest of her life…………..

But………… as we read on, we can see that God’s plan for her life was set in place from the very beginning and before she was born.  As you start to read her story which is painstakingly blunt and to the point, you will start to see why God allowed her to go through what she did.

He has totally turned Carmen’s life around, through all the evil she endured which carried on into her adult life including some of the choices she made, slowly you will see a very different woman emerging. A woman determined to establish a career for herself, a woman who wanted to be loved for who she was, a woman who had to learn to love herself but in the end a woman who finally allowed the love of God to envelop her in the most beautiful way possible.

Through allowing God to take charge of her life and to make her life His own, Carmen was finally able to be set free from her past life.

This is a lady who has walked through the most horrendous journey possible but, as you start to read, you actually feel as if you are walking through her life with her. You become totally enveloped both in what she is going through and the excitement of how step by step, little by little, you can see God starting to make changes in her life to the point where He totally changes here life around. A life, where in the end love has won through, God’s patient and never ending love.

Carmen has indeed emerged from a Chrysalis into a beautiful butterfly.

If you have gone through any kind of physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse then this book is for you. As you read through, I pray that God will open  your heart to allow him to take over and to heal you from whatever pain and or suffering you are going through – He is at the end of the day, the ONLY ONE who can set you TOTALLY FREE from THE INSIDE OUT…………..
