Homeschooling with a 2 year old
Okay yesterday was our second day in our new school year. The first day went very smooth. I was able to get much accomplished with the girls and Angel entertained herself pretty well while I was working with her sisters. However, yesterday (second day of school) Angel decided to give us a little excitement. while working on the girls school work she decided to get into the garbage that I had been shredding and pull handfulls of it out and throw over her head like confetti. Okay no problem so I pull the vacuum out and get that cleaned up and I turn around and she has some of her sisters play lipstick, the wax stuff, and is writing on the tv screen. AHHHHHHH Okay no problem clean that up then she tries to climb in the middle of the kitchen table. Then she is standing in the recliner rocking like she is surfing or something. Okay so needless to say I was thrilled when she finally was down for her nap. I just collapsed into my desk chair. She is such a sweet child but soooooooooooo energetic. LOL So today I am praying that she stays occupied enough to allow me the time to teach her sisters. |

I am so excited.
The girls and I have discovered lapbooks. I am so thrilled. They look like so much fun to put together. I really am looking forward to starting them. I will post pics of them when we get the first ones completed. I couldn't believe how much my girls would get excited about something like this as much as I do. I want to do them now but I know it needs to be done over time to get them done right. Well just wanted to share. |

Homeschooling with Toddler underfoot
I tell you what homeschooling with a toddler underfoot is very hard. It was easy when she was a baby but now that she is mobile schooling is getting harder. She thinks she has to be in the middle of everything. It has made school days last longer, the housework harder to keep up with and life in general chaotic. I love my girls but boy I need to figure out a way to keep her busy so I can focus on the older two during some part of the day.
I know as she gets older she will actually be easier to deal with and I will probably wonder why I felt so exhausted and worn out and out of control. But right now I need to figure out how to get my life somewhat back to being organized. I know with God's help I will be able to do it and this too shall pass. Until then I guess I just need to rely on him and take it one day and one step at a time.
Blessings,
Dianna |

Homeschool Mommy
Well I am in the middle of my second year homeschooling. This year my middle daughter started kindergarten. So two out of three of my girls are in school. I have a while for my youngest to start school. At least another 3 years. I look forward to it though. I look forward to journaling and recording our homeschool adventure.
We have been homeschooling since my eldest started kindergarten. We love doing it. I wish hubby would get a little more involved with it but that is kinda hard since he is in college full time too. I have family that think I should put my children in public school but I refuse to do that. I want to homeschool and I feel that is the right thing for me and my family. I would only ever put them in private school but I don't really want to do that either. I believe the Lord has led us to homeschool our children right now.
I was homeschooled from the 8th grade on and I really loved it. Me and my sister were really involved with the youth group in church and the homeschool group in our area so we had lots of friends and interactions. People think that when you homeschool your kids never see other children or don't get to do things that other kids get to do. But, I also know that kids that are homeschooled don't normally have to deal with all the peer pressure of trying to fit in and do things that they should never do. They won't have to worry about class bullys or falling behind. I can work with them one on one so that they can learn what it is that they need to learn in a way that they actually comprehend it and are not being pushed through.
I really love being a homeschool mom. |
